Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Monday 2020-10-05 - She Danced in New York City!

Post Number 1322

Hello darlings! It's Monday morning here in New York City, and the sun is shining! As I type this, I'm sat at a little cafe on Broadway with a massive pink iced latte and the delicious smell of freshly baked croissants swirling around me. It's going to be a brilliant day, filled with fashion, fabulous shows and, of course, a whole heap of tutus!

Now, you lovely lot know that I post my New York City blog every Monday on www.pink-tutu.com, and this week, my diary is absolutely bursting with exciting happenings!

Last week, I was in Derbyshire, back home visiting family, and although I miss them dearly, the urge to be back in the Big Apple was just too strong to resist. My return was sparked by a rather fabulous opportunity to see Swan Lake at the Lincoln Center. You all know my passion for classical ballet, and the sheer elegance of this performance had me mesmerized! I was absolutely entranced, and afterwards, I just had to celebrate with a glass of champagne at The Carlyle.

Speaking of fashion, I also have some lovely new additions to my wardrobe thanks to a little retail therapy spree! The Garment District, oh how I adore you! It's impossible to resist those gorgeous shops filled with vintage dresses, shimmering fabrics, and the most breathtakingly glamorous gowns. And don't even get me started on the hat shops! I was positively spoilt for choice, and I now have a brand new vintage hat with a magnificent feather which perfectly matches my latest pink tutu creation! It's certainly one to turn heads. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm excited to tell you that this week is shaping up to be one of the most glamorous yet! I have tickets for a performance of Moulin Rouge! at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. I've always been a fan of the musical, and seeing it in its natural habitat will be pure magic! Imagine - all those bright lights, vibrant costumes, and a dash of Parisian charm. Oh, the excitement!

However, before I let myself get swept away by the allure of Moulin Rouge!, I have to tell you about my most exciting discovery of the week! I found the most wonderful vintage boutique in Greenwich Village called The Dress Code. Now, this place is a treasure trove of retro delights! I absolutely adore its shabby-chic vibes, filled with unique clothes, sparkly jewellery, and a delightful smattering of whimsical decorations. The best part? They have a glorious collection of pink tutus, from the delicate and lacy to the full and frilly, just perfect for those days when I need an extra dose of Parisian chic!

Oh, and speaking of chic, I can't resist a mention of the stylish ballet school I found this week, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Their website is full of information about classes, events, and of course, opportunities to wear those fabulous pink tutus!

I feel inspired by the passion and creativity surrounding dance in New York. The city buzzes with energy and movement, and it's simply contagious!

I'll be keeping you updated on all my New York adventures! Now, it's time for me to explore some more of the city's hidden gems! Do you have any recommendations for vintage shops or a particularly wonderful ballet studio that I shouldn't miss? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next Monday, stay fabulous and keep those pink tutus spinning!

XOXO,

Emma
