Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #1339 - A Whirlwind of Pink in the Big Apple
Hello, darlings! Emma here, back with another delightful installment from the vibrant heart of New York City! This week, Iām absolutely buzzing with the energy of this magical metropolis ā from a truly spectacular ballet performance to a fashion find thatās stolen my heart (and, of course, itās pink!), the past few days have been an absolute dream.
Itās Monday, the first of February, and already this year is looking rosy! As always, I started the day with a delicious cuppa and my trusty copy of the New York Times, nestled in my pink-tutu-emblazoned armchair. (Donāt worry, I haven't totally gone over to the dark side of pink furnitureā¦ yet! š).
This weekās ballet adventure took me to the glorious Lincoln Center, where I was mesmerized by the American Ballet Theatre's rendition of "Swan Lake." Oh, the artistry, the grace, the sheer drama of it all! Itās no surprise this masterpiece is considered one of the greatest ballets in history. It left me breathless, and inspired, and dreaming of twirls on the stage myself! š©°
Speaking of twirls, after the performance, I couldnāt resist indulging in some much-needed retail therapy! New York City, for all its impressive skyscrapers and concrete jungles, offers a treasure trove of independent boutiques, and my latest favourite is a darling little shop tucked away on Bleecker Street called āPink Parlour.ā The name alone, my darlings, said it all! It was like walking into a wonderland of soft pinks, delicate lace, and playful bows. My purchases wereā¦ letās just say, itās not a surprise I'll be donning pink in every possible iteration for the foreseeable future. I'll share the details later this week. š
No trip to New York is complete without a ride on the subway. I mean, just think about the incredible fashion on display! My own pink tutu did turn a few heads, as I whisked my way to the vibrant Meatpacking District. What I wouldnāt give to capture a photo of every single amazing ensemble, but it felt so personal, so raw, and real ā and capturing it all would feelā¦ intrusive, somehow. (Besides, how do you get a photo of all the magic of New York on the subway anyway? š)
And finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, dear readers ā a snippet of my New York Fashion Finds! (No surprise they're all pink!). I nabbed a stunning pair of vintage pink suede boots in Soho. Let's just say theyāll be the perfect addition to my winter pink tutu wardrobe, for when it's a little too cold for bare legs and tulle, and my next tutu outfit is on the theme of a winter wonderland!
New York is certainly a feast for the eyes! If youāve ever felt like you have to wear pink, my dears, then come to New York! From the cityās vibrant energy to its seemingly endless streets of retail therapy and iconic performances, you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice, and will know pink is the right color.
Thatās all for this week, my lovely readers! Do follow me on Instagram at @PinkTutuEmma for behind-the-scenes looks and daily pink fashion inspiration. Donāt forget, you can also join my Pink Tutu Club, our online community dedicated to all things pink! š
Until next Monday, stay bright, be fabulous, and may your days be filled with the pinkest of twirls!
With Love and Lots of Tutu-Love,
Emma xx
Fashion Find of the Week
This week, itās a gorgeous, pre-loved pair of vintage pink suede boots. Found tucked away in the back corner of a vintage boutique in SoHo. The pink is almost coral, the perfect colour for when the weather chills but I'm still yearning for a splash of pink. I couldn't resist them - they are absolute dream-boats!
A New Yorkerās Tip for Ballet Lovers
A trip to see a show at the American Ballet Theatre in the Lincoln Center is a must for all budding ballerinas! Itās not just about the performance, but also the energy and vibe in the audience.
