This week, I truly lived my best life – that’s what happens when you combine your passions with a city as vibrant and exciting as New York. My ballet journey here was simply divine, beginning with a masterclass at the American Ballet Theatre. Honestly, it was beyond my wildest dreams. Being in the same studio as some of the most incredible dancers in the world, receiving their expert guidance, it was pure magic! And of course, I rocked my signature pink tutu, feeling absolutely fabulous.
The pièce de résistance, though? Witnessing the exquisite performance of Swan Lake at the Metropolitan Opera House. I can't even begin to describe the pure wonder I felt as the graceful swans swirled across the stage. Their strength, grace, and emotion brought tears to my eyes. It was a truly unforgettable evening.

Of course, no trip to New York is complete without some retail therapy. My little Pink Tutu heart absolutely skipped a beat when I wandered into a vintage costume shop on Broadway. I snagged the most exquisite lilac-tinted tutu with a touch of sparkle – it’s going straight into my performance wardrobe. I am in love! It’s the perfect hue to contrast against the bright neon lights of the city. ✨💖
The rest of my time in New York was spent soaking up the fashion scene. I love the way New Yorkers mix and match textures, prints, and colours, making each outfit unique and bold. I got a few inspiration pieces for my own wardrobe – a luxurious pink leather jacket and some chic silver heels to bring a touch of sophistication to my otherwise whimsical outfits.
A Metro Ride to Remember and Discovering the Joy of Subway Street Performers
Navigating New York City's iconic subway system has been quite the experience, even if I did have a small near-disaster with a particularly packed rush-hour train. Let's just say I embraced the chaos with a healthy dose of humour! 😜 But it was during one of my journeys beneath the bustling streets that I discovered something truly special.
Tucked away on a platform at 72nd Street, a young violinist played Vivaldi. He had his own makeshift stage created by some strategically placed cardboard boxes and he drew a small crowd of commuters around him. People were swaying gently to the music, eyes closed and lost in the melody.
His passion was evident in every note and it truly touched me. That, I believe, is what makes New York so unique: it’s the everyday people bringing beauty to the everyday. And it definitely gave me that much-needed dose of inspiration. ✨
Dinner at a Delicious Deli & Celebrating the Freedom of the American Dream
Being in a bustling metropolis with so much going on can be pretty overwhelming, so when I want to ground myself, I find a little local diner or café, enjoy a meal, and people watch. This trip I found myself seated next to a lively bunch of young professionals, who were catching up after a long day. They spoke so passionately about their jobs, their lives, their dreams. Their unbridled enthusiasm was so infectious, I almost felt a pang of envy.
It really drove home how the spirit of ambition is so palpable here. In the heart of the American Dream, there's this wonderful belief in self-made success, a yearning for the extraordinary, and a love of life that radiates outwards. It was incredibly inspiring!

This trip to New York truly reignited my love of performing and has confirmed my unwavering determination to spread the joy of tutus all over the world. Yes, it was exhausting, and yes, it was stressful, but it was all worth it because I was living out my passion.
New York has a unique energy – one that I'll forever hold within my heart. The vibrant colours, the chaotic crowds, the energy in the air – it all combines into an incredible symphony of experiences. And my own journey, well, it just proves that no matter where you're from, you can find your way onto the stage, no matter how big or small, as long as you wear your tutu with pride and passion! 🩰 💖
