Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #1398 - Dancing in the Big Apple! πβ¨
Hey darlings! It's Emma here, back with another post from the magical city of New York! Can you believe it's Monday already? Time flies when you're having fun, as they say! And I'm having a lot of fun in the Big Apple! ποΈ
This week, I'm sharing all about my latest adventures in this iconic city, where I've been exploring everything from Broadway shows to trendy boutiques. Of course, I've been wearing my trusty pink tutu β it's simply the perfect outfit for twirling through the streets of New York! π
Speaking of twirling, let's start with the highlight of my week: attending a ballet performance at the iconic New York City Ballet. It was a dream come true! Watching these talented dancers effortlessly soar through the air in their beautiful costumes, it was pure magic. I was so inspired! The energy was electrifying and the venue itself was breathtaking. It really made me want to brush up on my own ballet skills - maybe I should pop over to the School of American Ballet and try a class? π€
Before heading to the ballet, I treated myself to a delicious brunch at a trendy spot in SoHo. I just adore the atmosphere in this area - so many vintage boutiques and art galleries - definitely a pink tutu haven! I indulged in fluffy pancakes and a bottomless mimosa while soaking up the trendy vibes. I'm not usually one for sweet breakfasts but today it was a treat! π₯π₯
Speaking of treats, afterwards, I had a real treat! I finally ticked something off my bucket list - a visit to the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art)! I mean, who doesn't love a bit of art in their life? π I was mesmerized by the vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and films, and I spent hours getting lost in the creative spirit of the space. πΌοΈ
Of course, no trip to New York City would be complete without some shopping. ποΈ After exploring MOMA, I made a beeline for the shops on Fifth Avenue. I simply couldn't resist browsing the latest fashion collections. A sparkly pink handbag, a floral printed scarf, and a stunning pair of shoes with delicate embellishments were all tucked into my shopping bags - itβs hard not to be a bit of a shopaholic here! π π
After a full day of sightseeing and shopping, I hopped on the subway, the iconic symbol of New York City transport, and headed back to my cozy hotel. I am truly enjoying navigating this sprawling city. You have to learn quickly in this bustling metropolis and remember to get a MetroCard for easy travelling and remember to get the right train - I made one mistake this week and ended up miles away from where I needed to be, which led to some unexpected exploration, but no stress, it was all part of the adventure! π πΊοΈ
Now, I'm snuggled up in my hotel room, writing this post and enjoying a cup of English Breakfast tea. It's hard to believe that I've been in New York City for almost two weeks already. It feels like a dream, and I don't want it to end! π
Before I wrap up, I want to share some of the highlights of this beautiful city that I have seen so far.
Firstly, the food! Of course, pizza and bagels are staples here. Who can resist the classic NYC slice? π However, it is truly fascinating experiencing the mix of cuisines. From authentic Indian to authentic Mexican, to Greek and Chinese, I've been indulging in culinary exploration every day and I love trying everything new, including the vibrant farmers markets in Central Park! I have even bought some ingredients to have a go at a Mexican feast back in my hotel room!
Secondly, the people. This city really is the melting pot of the world. From tourists from every country imaginable to friendly New Yorkers in the subway and locals shopping, everyone has their own unique story. I love being around so many different people and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. The other day, a group of men dressed up in tutus came into a cafe to grab a coffee and I actually managed to snap a photo of them. They looked amazing! π
Thirdly, Central Park. I had seen it in countless films and TV shows, so I was delighted to finally walk around this iconic green space. There were children laughing and playing, runners pounding the pavements, squirrels darting about, and even some brave souls venturing out onto the ice rink. It's really a mini world within the bustling metropolis. The perfect escape for a morning walk.
Finally, I've fallen in love with the architecture in New York City. From the towering skyscrapers to the historic brownstone houses, the architecture in this city is truly captivating. Just looking at these stunning buildings inspires me. π½ This city really has it all, and I love exploring its various neighbourhoods, especially the chic uptown area and the trendy Soho area.
One more thing I just had to mention β have you ever had New York cheesecake? OMG! You simply HAVE to try it. I've eaten so much during my time in the Big Apple, but the cheesecake takes the cake (pun intended). Itβs seriously decadent and so good.
Of course, I've been keeping you updated with my daily outfits on my Instagram. It goes without saying, that my signature pink tutu makes an appearance in every single picture. And what better backdrop for my tutu twirling photos than the iconic landmarks of this beautiful city, right?! My photos on the Brooklyn Bridge with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop are getting amazing comments. Just so much fun! β¨
Well, that's all for this week! Stay tuned next week for more updates from my adventures in the Big Apple. π½ π
Until then, keep twirling and never stop chasing your dreams! π©°
Love, Emma
