#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Monday 2023-03-13 - New York City, Iā€™m Coming For You!

Hello, my gorgeous pink tutu darlings! Welcome to #PinkTutuBlogNYC! It's Monday again, which means itā€™s time for another dose of pink tutu-tastic adventures! I am currently sat in my little Brooklyn apartment, gazing at the city lights, writing this very blog post and feeling ridiculously happy. As you know, it's a big week for me! This week marks my fourteenth week in the city that never sleeps, and I feel like I am already hopelessly in love!

Remember when I announced that Iā€™d be coming to New York to take on Broadway in all its glory? Well, here I am! Every day in this incredible city feels like a whirlwind of colour, sights, and most importantly, the magical sounds of live performances. Let me tell you, it's enough to make even the most experienced ballerina weep!

Ballet, Broadway, and Bags of Style!

Last week was pure magic. On Friday night, I was lucky enough to see a performance of "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" on Broadway! Honestly, I cannot recommend this show enough. From the costumes (the Moulin Rouge ladies are all dripping in gorgeous, sparkly embellishment, it's the ultimate expression of glamorous Parisian nightlife, and there are enough feathers to keep a whole flock of peacocks happy!) to the music (who doesn't love a good rendition of ā€œLady Marmaladeā€?!) and the choreography - it was absolutely phenomenal. It reminded me of the classic film, full of glitz, glamour, and of course, some naughty Parisian delights! It was so, so inspiring. After all, my dream is to grace the stages of Broadway one day, so I felt that tiny pinch of ambition urging me on to follow my heart, and dance like nobody's watching. (Although in reality, everyone will definitely be watching!)

My dear pink tutu family know Iā€™m a massive fan of the famous NYC Ballet at Lincoln Center. I couldn't wait to be swept away by their captivating performances again. Iā€™m always completely mesmerized. It's no wonder this place is considered a mecca for ballet enthusiasts. Iā€™ve never been so happy. And this week? Well, this week, I got to spend the day in the studio with the American Ballet Theatre. This was a real dream come true! I'll tell you more about it all soon!

Now, for some shopping talk, because letā€™s face it, New York City and fashion are two things that simply go hand in hand. Honestly, this city makes you feel like you are living in a chic fairy tale. Iā€™m not going to lie, I've gone slightly mad for the stores. Honestly, a girlā€™s gotta have her pink tutus! Thereā€™s a vintage clothing store called "The Way We Were" and ā€œThe Closet,ā€ they are basically bursting at the seams with dazzling fabrics and gorgeous sequins! I had to go on a shopping spree of course! My pink tutus are bursting with happy shopping excitement right now!

And you know me, I can't go shopping without my favourite ballerina partner-in-crime - my beautiful vintage pink leather satchel. My ā€œLittle Miss Pinkā€ bag! Itā€™s always by my side, carrying my most precious belongings.

Travel, Food, and the Beauty of the Metro!

One of the things I love the most about being here in New York is the iconic, vibrant underground system ā€“ the metro! Donā€™t get me wrong, my legs do get tired after all the exploring and ballet classes, so it's a blessing in disguise that it takes me everywhere! Honestly, every journey through those stations is a cultural adventure! The atmosphere is so electrifying, and I find myself constantly enthralled by the energy of the city. This week, my favourite route was the Number 2 Train - itā€™s a bit like an expressway down the very heart of this glamorous metropolis! It truly takes you on a tour of the best bits. And you know me, it always takes a trip with my favourite pink tote! I find there is no better way to experience a new place than to travel the metro with your own pink tutu bag, and see all of those delightful smiles that come with a splash of pink!

This week, I've fallen in love with a new spot for my lunch break ā€“ itā€™s this quirky, charming cafe called ā€œThe Teapot.ā€ The tea is just divine, and the cake, oh my, I indulged in their heavenly cherry and almond cake ā€“ and if youā€™re not careful, itā€™s gone in a few bites!

Of course, I'm also living on pizza! When in New Yorkā€¦right?

Itā€™s Pink Tutu-tastic in New York City

Being here has taught me that anything is possible. With my own little touch of magic sprinkled on the journey, this trip is definitely helping me to see the beauty in everything I do! I really do hope I'm inspiring you all to find that pink tutu and express your unique magic. If you havenā€™t heard me say it enough - lifeā€™s just a little bit better in pink, you know.

If you love ballet as much as I do, make sure you get your tickets for a show now. New York has so much on offer, there are amazing Broadway shows, off-Broadway events, and dance productions that you really shouldn't miss!
