Hello, darlings! It's Monday, and you know what that means: a brand new post on your favourite pink tutu-filled blog, straight from the Big Apple! I've just finished twirling around the streets of New York City, and let me tell you, my tutu is positively overflowing with stories to tell!
It's a glorious day in NYC – the sun is shining, the pigeons are chirping, and I, of course, am wearing pink. What else would a ballerina girl do in the fashion capital of the world?! This week has been a whirlwind of ballet, shopping, and discovering the city's hidden gems, and I'm so excited to share it all with you.
But first, a quick update on the tutu situation. My latest creation, a beautiful shimmering tulle dream in blush pink, has been turning heads everywhere. People on the subway have stopped to smile and ask for selfies, which just makes my heart skip a beat! The sheer joy and laughter it brings is honestly the most rewarding part of being the "Pink Tutu Lady of New York" (I just made that up, but I like it).
From the Stage to the Streets
The highlight of the week has to be my performance at the Lincoln Center! The feeling of being onstage with the spotlight on you, the applause echoing in your ears… oh, it's pure magic! I'm getting more confident with each performance, and even managed a triple pirouette! I always feel a rush of adrenaline, and I truly believe that sharing the passion for dance is what gives me the energy to chase my dreams.
After the performance, I treated myself to a little retail therapy in SoHo. You wouldn't believe the stunning vintage finds I unearthed - I mean, seriously, you wouldn't find anything like it in my hometown of Derbyshire! From a shimmering 1920s sequined top to a pair of candy pink platform heels, my suitcase is already overflowing!
Speaking of overflowing, I couldn't resist buying a handful of delectable donuts at a shop called "Donut Worry, Be Happy". I mean, how can you resist when they are all pink?!
A Little Bit of Broadway Magic
There's nothing quite like the thrill of a Broadway show. This week, I saw "Hamilton" - yes, the one everyone's talking about. The music, the storytelling, the energy, it was truly electric! The costumes, the choreography… every element was pure artistry, and I left the theatre feeling inspired, invigorated, and desperately wanting to twirl my way down the streets!
Speaking of the streets, I have been using the Metro a lot lately, and the underground scene is pretty vibrant! I see so many amazing street performers – buskers with incredible talent, hip-hop dancers busting moves, and the occasional ukulele player, of course. You never know what you'll find in New York!
Pink Power
And just in case you're wondering, I am on a mission to get everyone wearing pink tutus. Every day, I see people staring in admiration (or maybe just confusion?) at my tutu, but that doesn’t bother me one bit! My ultimate goal is to spark joy and make people smile. If my little tutu can help with that, then mission accomplished!

What’s On This Week
- The New York City Ballet: On Tuesday, I'm taking a class with the New York City Ballet. I've heard the instructors are phenomenal and I can't wait to see the difference in my technique. Maybe they'll even introduce a tutu-themed class!
- Museum Hopping: The Met is always an exciting place to visit! This Wednesday I plan to be surrounded by art, soaking up all the creativity. Who knows, maybe there'll even be some inspiring ballet-themed sculptures!
- Dinner with Friends: Nothing beats a good dinner and laughter with good company. So, on Thursday, I'm meeting my friends at a fancy little Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. You know me - I can’t resist the charm of an authentic red sauce and the magic of pasta!
It's gonna be another jam-packed week, but hey, who needs sleep when you have the city of dreams at your feet (and a sparkly pink tutu on your backside, of course!)
