Hello, darling readers! It's Monday again, which means it's time for another fabulous instalment of my Pink Tutu Blog, straight from the vibrant streets of New York City! I'm Emma, your trusty pink-tutu-wearing guide to all things chic and sparkly, and I'm thrilled to share with you my adventures from this past week.
This week was particularly dazzling. Let me tell you, this city is a whirlwind of creativity and inspiration. As usual, I've been keeping busy with my beloved ballet performances - I must admit, I've had quite a few these past few weeks to fund my New York extravaganzas. Last Thursday I was twirling across the stage in a beautiful Swan Lake performance - you can't beat the feeling of elegance and grace on a grand stage!
Exploring the City That Never Sleeps
New York City, for all its hustle and bustle, is a city that really makes my heart sing! You can't beat that intoxicating energy. I'm quite the expert on navigating the metro system by now - those rumbling subway trains are such an integral part of the New York experience.
Speaking of New York icons, I took a spin on the Staten Island Ferry this weekend! Did you know that ride is free? I find that absolutely charming! Of course, I wore my favourite hot pink tutu, it seemed like a fitting outfit to admire the city from a different perspective!
The Art of Ballet and Beyond
My favourite part of this week? Why, it had to be catching a stunning ballet performance at the Joyce Theatre! I fell in love with the story they told – an enchanting mix of humour and heartbreaking romance. This little theatre truly gives you a feel for the intimacy and raw power of dance, just divine!
And of course, no visit to New York is complete without exploring its legendary fashion scene. Last Friday, I had the most wonderful time at the Opening Ceremony shop - they have the most vibrant collection of clothing I’ve ever seen! I just had to pick up a pair of sparkly fuchsia boots, perfect for a night on the town!
Tutu Dreams & Broadway Lights
Did you know it was International Tutu Day this week?! I know, right?! How divine is it that there's a whole day dedicated to our beloved tulle masterpieces! And to celebrate this grand occasion, I decided to venture into the heart of Times Square. Now, this place is pure chaos! But with that vibrant energy and the iconic billboards lighting up the night, you just can't help but get swept up in its infectious buzz! I felt like a princess amidst the flashing lights, especially in my blush pink tutu - I might just have caused a mini-sensation, ha!
I did some more window shopping along the avenues and even snuck into a tiny little Broadway shop for a little retail therapy. Found the cutest mini dress with pink sequins and a matching sparkly bag. Gotta love a little retail therapy, eh?
London's Calling!
I’m not going to lie, my dear readers - a little part of me is yearning for the green hills and cobbled streets of Derbyshire right now. My heart always feels a little pang for home.
