Hello darlings! It's Monday, and you know what that means? A brand new Pink Tutu Blog NYC post is here to brighten your day! ? I'm your resident tutu-touting, fashion-loving ballerina, Emma, writing to you live from the Big Apple. And let me tell you, this city truly lives up to its name! It's buzzing with energy, a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and experiences that just makes me want to twirl!
This week, I've been embracing the whirlwind of New York life. I spent a glorious Saturday afternoon catching the latest ballet performance at the Metropolitan Opera House - the costumes were breathtaking, the dancing sublime, and I left feeling utterly inspired!
Afterwards, of course, I had to hit Fifth Avenue for some retail therapy! New York is a haven for all things fashion, and I simply couldn't resist treating myself to a little something sparkly. I spotted a pair of blush pink shoes with the most adorable little ballerina detailing that would perfectly compliment my tutu collection! You can't expect a girl to resist such an alluring sight! ??
Pink Power in the Subway
I do love my time above ground, but it wouldn't be a proper New York adventure without experiencing the legendary subway system! The sheer volume of people whizzing by is quite a sight! It truly is an experience all in itself. This week, I even wore my most extravagant pink tutu to journey across town. It seemed a shame to keep my most glamorous garment hidden away! And you know what? It made everyone smile! It's like the power of pink just washes over everyone when they see a tutu – they can’t help but feel happy and positive. My goal in life is to make the whole world see that everyone looks great in a tutu, and you just never know who you might inspire! ?
A Peek into Emma's Week
Let's talk about the little things that made this week magical, shall we? First things first, it's National Coffee Day on Wednesday, 27th August - a celebration for caffeine lovers everywhere! Naturally, I started my day with a delightful oat latte, pink and sweet just like me. It's my little treat for conquering a bustling week!
And on Saturday, it's National Dog Day! How could we forget to celebrate those wonderful canine companions? I just had to share this cute fact – there are so many adorable dog-walking hotspots across NYC! It's definitely worth planning your afternoon around the adorable pooches and their equally wonderful owners. There are some beautiful parks too, just perfect for strolling.
Oh, and don't forget about Monday! We've got the end of August – how is it nearly September already?! We've got to cherish these last few sunny days. Let's all celebrate a fabulous summer, filled with adventures, laughter, and of course, pink tutus!
Adventures Beyond the Tutu:
As much as I love New York, I also yearn for new experiences. In a few weeks, I'm heading back home to Derbyshire for a visit with my family! It'll be lovely to exchange stories and see familiar faces – there’s just nothing like home-cooked comfort food to chase away any travel woes! I’m thinking of putting on a special ballet performance back in my old stomping grounds to raise some money to fund my next trip! It would be wonderful to share my passion for ballet with others and get everyone excited for their own grand adventures!
While I'm excited to spend time at home, I can't wait to return to New York and delve even deeper into this fantastic city. From exploring hidden gems to sampling delicious bites from all around the world, I have a long list of experiences to enjoy! I plan on catching a couple of more Broadway shows before my trip. They are such a highlight of the city, you can’t go without experiencing them, really.

Okay, let's dive into the details! Every girl loves to hear about the contents of other girls’ wardrobes. I'm sure you’re dying to know what’s making my outfit choices! I just adore a vibrant color palette when it comes to my wardrobe – I love to pair my tutus with vibrant colors. Think hot pink, lemon yellow, bright teal, and maybe a little electric blue, thrown in for good measure! I've been pairing these colours with classic pieces like a black pencil skirt or a chic white shirt for a more versatile look that suits the New York scene.
Where to Find a Fabulous Tutu?
You know I just had to give you guys some tutu tips. You’re going to need to get yourselves some pink, aren’t you?!
For something classically chic, you simply can’t beat the Parisian tutu. It's a must-have, offering elegance and a hint of sophistication with every twirl!
But let's not forget those statement tutus! Here’s a little tip from me – make sure your statement tutu is all about you. Find a colour, style, or texture that makes your heart skip a beat!
As for where to find them, a good online retailer can be a true lifesaver! Or if you fancy a bit of a treasure hunt, pop into independent stores to see what you can uncover. I know a charming little boutique called ‘The Ballerina’ in Soho which is worth a look. The staff is friendly and knows the history behind every style, you just can’t resist that charm! My stomach has a real hunger for discovering some truly unique restaurants. From a fancy New York deli, with its perfectly toasted bagel and a schmear of creamy cream cheese, to a casual pizza place offering those classic triangular slices – every bite has a story!
