#PinkTutuBlogNYC: Week 1634: New York City Twirls!

Good morning, my lovelies! ☀️ It's Monday, which means a new #PinkTutuBlogNYC post! I'm buzzing, because I'm still reeling from the weekend. You know I love to twirl, and this weekend, I twirled my way through the most magical city in the world: New York City! ✨

For this adventure, I packed my favourite blush pink tulle tutu – a definite statement piece! It caught everyone's eye as I sashayed down Fifth Avenue, and honestly, you can't beat a little bit of pink sparkle for attracting smiles and positive vibes.

The weekend began with a breathtaking ballet performance at Lincoln Center. You know how much I love seeing live ballet – there's just nothing quite like feeling the raw energy of the dancers. The piece was based on the beautiful mythology of nymphs and goddesses, and it left me feeling totally inspired and filled with the joy of dance.

After the performance, it was off to one of my favourite boutiques – a charming little spot on Bleecker Street brimming with all things vintage and bohemian. I found the most gorgeous emerald green velvet dress – a little bit Gatsby, a little bit disco, perfect for twirling through the streets of Greenwich Village.

But my favourite part of the weekend? Absolutely, undoubtedly, the experience of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Imagine me, whirling my way through the galleries – feeling the magic of each piece as I stepped through history and artistry. I was particularly smitten with the Renaissance era collection, and couldn't help but think of all the stories swirling behind those oil paintings.

My highlight? A glorious bronze sculpture depicting a ballerina, en pointe, caught in mid-leap. My heart fluttered – such elegance! It perfectly mirrored how I felt twirling my way around the museum. It's like New York is always offering me new opportunities to discover the artistry in everyday life.

A Big Apple Bite: ?

No visit to New York is complete without indulging in its iconic culinary scene. So, I went on a little food adventure and stumbled upon the most incredible vegan bagel shop. I mean, the chewy bagels piled high with tofu cream cheese and crunchy pickles, all washed down with an ice-cold chai latte... I'm telling you, my tastebuds danced in delight!

I think I even overheard a group of young people saying they were aiming to get everyone to wear a pink tutu, just like me! It made my heart swell with pride, knowing that my little pink message of joy is resonating in this fabulous city.

Speaking of my mission to spread the pink tutu love – did you see that there were over 300 pink tutus at the recent "A Midsummer Night's Dream" open-air performance in Central Park? The air was electric! I swear, the energy from the dancing pink tutus in the audience matched the brilliance on stage! It felt so magical, truly captivating! It was almost like being transported to a dream.

The weekend was, without a doubt, filled with enchantment. And, as always, the journey was part of the magic. Travelling on the New York Metro – such a sensory experience. From the rhythm of the trains to the ever-changing cityscape glimpsed through the windows, it’s a journey where you can truly feel the vibrant heart of the city. It makes me wish I had discovered the beauty of the subway before my journey!

I wouldn't have missed it for the world. New York, you truly are the city that never sleeps, and I'm leaving with my heart full of colour, energy, and the promise of more amazing adventures.

From my heart to yours,

Emma
