Pink Tutu Blog: New York City - Post 1641

Hello lovelies! It's Monday, and that means it's time for another installment of your favourite Pink Tutu Blog, live from the Big Apple! This week, I'm absolutely buzzing because I've just danced my way through one of the most incredible experiences I've had so far in my New York City adventure.

Remember last week, when I told you I was going to try out a brand new ballet class in the heart of Manhattan? Well, it was even more wonderful than I could have imagined! The studio, perched on the top floor of a chic building overlooking Central Park, had these enormous windows with breathtaking views of the cityscape, and it felt like the sun was shining down on our every pirouette. I swear, the feeling of dancing in such a beautiful space with such talented dancers around me, it truly felt like I was gliding on air!

After class, the energy was still buzzing through me, so I decided to treat myself to a well-deserved afternoon in one of my favourite haunts, a gorgeous vintage clothing shop on the Upper East Side. I simply adore the feeling of digging through racks of colourful garments, unearthing hidden treasures from different eras. I scored a vintage silk scarf, perfect for adding a pop of colour to my outfits, and an amazing pair of 1950s ruby-red heels – absolutely perfect for a night out in the city, darling!

Speaking of night outs, remember how I told you last week I'd nabbed tickets to see the brand new show, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", at the iconic Metropolitan Opera? Well, let me tell you, the costumes were absolutely phenomenal, the music was magical, and I absolutely adored the choreography. Alice’s journey from the quaint British countryside to Wonderland was truly brought to life! The whole experience was simply breath-taking! It really had me spinning with inspiration. I can't wait to bring a bit of the "Alice" magic to my own choreographies!

To finish off the week, I met a group of dancers at a street performance in the West Village – I simply had to check out the scene! This fabulous little troupe called "The Whirlwinds" had such energy and vibrancy! They weren’t wearing tutus, which I must admit, was slightly disappointing - I mean, how can you call yourself a performance group without at least a sprinkle of pink? But they really captured the hearts of everyone watching with their stunning aerial choreography, and their performance truly made me feel like I was in a dream!

Of course, no visit to New York is complete without a few metro adventures! This city's public transport system is legendary, isn't it? I have to say, even the busiest days just wouldn’t be the same without being surrounded by the city's eclectic characters!

This week I even got chatting to a delightful young woman on the subway who swore she once spotted a famous fashion designer wearing a pink tutu at the Metropolitan Museum! Can you believe it? I truly think that maybe, just maybe, I’m on the right track! My mission is to make the pink tutu the hottest accessory in every city, in every country, in every part of the world!

One step at a time, darling, one step at a time.

The city just calls to you! It really does! You can feel it all around. Everywhere you look, there's just so much beauty, excitement, energy... it’s truly invigorating! This city just oozes a sense of confidence and style! The fashion, the culture, the dance scene... it’s simply incredible! It really does make me feel like I’m exactly where I should be.

Now, back to this magical tutu I have been wearing all week! As you know, my signature pink tutu is more than just an accessory – it's an emblem, a symbol of joy, freedom, and of course, the sheer pleasure of twirling. It's all about spreading a message of happiness, individuality and above all, self-expression. It makes me happy, and it makes me feel confident, and most importantly, it just makes me feel like ME!

And you know what? New York, with its whirlwind of culture and art, truly embraces my pink tutu philosophy. This city doesn't care if you stand out, it encourages it. I love that.

Now, it's time to wrap things up for this week. My bag is packed, my pink tutu is prepped for another grand adventure, and I'm off to explore even more hidden treasures of this magical city. Who knows what awaits me next week?

Until then, darlings! Keep twirling!

Remember, there's a pink tutu out there for everyone!

XOXO

Emma
