It's Monday morning here in New York City and the sun is shining through my hotel window, a dazzling ray of hope that this week will be brimming with fabulous fun and, of course, copious amounts of pink! It feels like a new era has begun here in the Big Apple - a bright, shimmering era, and I am just so happy to be a part of it.

I arrived last night from a quick, delightful weekend back in my home county of Derbyshire, where I treated myself to some wholesome country air, and some utterly fabulous vintage shopping in the quaint towns of Matlock Bath and Bakewell. (A little peak at my new buys are on my Instagram, don't you worry, my darlings! ?).

But New York, darling New York, calls to me, so I'm back on these busy, bustling streets and ready for all the glamour and adventure it throws my way! ?️

You see, I believe life is a grand, whimsical stage and every day we should dance upon it as if we're performing a joyous, intricate ballet. Today, my friends, we shall take to the New York City subway. It's a marvel of transportation! And this, I assure you, is just the first leg of a whirlwind day!

For this week's blog post, I wanted to take you with me on a very special adventure. One that embodies everything I hold dear - from my unwavering love for tutus, ballet, and vibrant colours, to my infectious joie de vivre that finds happiness in the most ordinary of moments.

My journey today, my darlings, is to see the awe-inspiring New York City Ballet. This year's season boasts some extraordinary talent. And I can’t wait to get lost in the world of swirling tutus and graceful leaps, as those amazing dancers pirouette through time. The performance will be breathtaking and full of beauty, and a perfect complement to my lovely new pink tutu! It will be a truly delightful sensory overload.

Speaking of tutus, my friends! Let's talk pink tutus, for what is a visit to New York City without a touch of pink? It's a statement, isn’t it? Like a whimsical whisper in a concrete jungle, it's about defying expectations and spreading a touch of light wherever you go! ?

Before my afternoon adventure at the Lincoln Center, I'll be starting my day at a ballet class in Greenwich Village. What better way to prepare for a spectacular ballet performance than to dance my own heart out, and feel the magic of ballet coursing through my veins? ?

Then it's on to a luncheon with some fantastic new friends who have caught the #PinkTutuBlogNYC bug. ?‍♀️ They're such a fabulous bunch! I am so lucky to meet people who embrace life's little (and big!) joys and who dare to twirl and twirl in this crazy city!

Speaking of which, there's something utterly exhilarating about walking the streets of New York in my favourite pink tutu. It draws attention, that's for sure. A little sprinkle of unexpected joy in the heart of bustling New York. The smiles and "aww's" I receive from people young and old never fail to make my heart flutter! ? It's all part of spreading a bit of #PinkTutu magic, don't you agree?

Later this evening, I am on a mission to find the perfect outfit for tomorrow night's performance. I've got a certain vintage Broadway show in mind and oh my, the anticipation is truly building! New York is an unparalleled haven for fashionistas, my dear. You'll find anything and everything from the latest designer duds to charming little boutiques brimming with vintage finds. Oh, I’m dreaming of lace and silk and a touch of dramatic feather boa! ?

The day may be long and bustling, but with a pink tutu, my friends, it's filled with joy! ✨

Today, I’m channeling the spirit of the ballet, taking to the subway as a dancer embraces the stage. I’ve learned that New York City’s subway isn’t just a means of transport - it’s an integral part of the city's pulse, a vibrant, swirling universe of its own.

From the ornate stations adorned with exquisite artwork, to the charming graffiti art that bursts to life on its walls, it's a kaleidoscope of the city’s very essence. I mean, just imagine the stories unfolding on every platform! The fleeting glimpses into everyday life that fill every carriage, the hushed conversations of lovers, the energy of students hurrying home - the New York City subway, my darlings, is a magnificent tapestry!

So, for me, the subway is just as exciting and captivating as any fashion show, stage performance, or artistic display! It's where the pulse of the city can be truly felt and that is why today, I’m experiencing the New York subway from my favourite perspective - twirling my way through, radiating #PinkTutu joy in every carriage!

This city is full of treasures, even amongst the most unexpected corners. That's what I love most about New York: The surprises, the discoveries, the joy to be found around every turn!

As a dancer at heart, I find the ultimate comfort and freedom in my favourite pink tutu. It’s my lucky charm! It's the expression of my whimsical self - my dancing soul! The world is my stage and every single day offers a chance to perform! And of course, pink is just the most amazing colour! ?

And when I travel, you can be sure that my tutu comes along! My little travel companion brings the magic everywhere it goes. If I want to channel some joy and excitement while exploring a new city or visiting new places, my tutu is right there, waiting for me to twirl into the adventure. ?

You might think, 'Emma, how can you dance in your tutu every single day?' But my darling tutulettes, why not?! Life is an opportunity to twirl and explore! It's all about spreading joy and kindness!

My aim is simple, really - to make every day feel as exciting and glamorous as the most enchanting ballet performance! ?

While I do love tutus, my mission extends far beyond a little pink tulle! I want to encourage all of you, to tap into your own inner light! You might be surprised at what amazing things you find within!

I may have come from Derbyshire, England, and am exploring New York City today, but this, my friends, is just the start! I'm so excited to share all the magical moments and fabulous fun I’ll find on my upcoming travels! From the ancient cities of Rome and Athens to the neon-lit glamour of Tokyo, I hope to find beauty and happiness everywhere I go!

This world is full of wonder and I intend to explore every nook and cranny of it in my pink tutu. What can I say? I’m on a mission to spread the message that a pink tutu is not just a garment, but a reminder to embrace the fun, joy, and magical spirit within ourselves!?
