Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Post #1676: Dancing Dreams in the Big Apple! ??

Hey darlings! ? Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in New York City and, oh my, what a week it's been! ? As you know, my love affair with the Big Apple is a long one, but this trip was extra special. I think I even managed to squeeze in more than usual, which is saying something, as my schedule is usually jam-packed with ballet shows, class, and of course, the all-important fashion scene.

So, put on your dancing shoes and grab a cuppa – we're going on a journey to discover the magic of NYC, sprinkled with a hefty dose of pink and twirls!

From Derbyshire to Downtown:

This trip, I landed straight into the heart of the action, the iconic and bustling Midtown. My gorgeous pink tutu bag (which, naturally, is the most chic way to travel, if I do say so myself ?) was ready for the adventure. It’s a tradition for me: a big, beautiful bag filled with my essentials – glitter spray, a sparkly compact mirror, a few pairs of sparkly tights, you know the drill. ✨

I absolutely love the convenience of the subway. Honestly, it's like being in a moving art gallery – you see every character, every style imaginable, which, naturally, provides endless inspiration for my blog! It's also a fantastic opportunity to spread my message: one tutu at a time! ? Yes, I was definitely rocking my tutu during the commute, which naturally caused a bit of a stir. But that's part of the fun, isn't it? I mean, what better way to brighten up a day than with a splash of pink?

A Ballet Extravaganza:

NYC, of course, is a haven for ballet lovers. This week I caught a truly incredible performance by the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center. They had a mix of classic pieces and exciting new choreography. You'll see a few snippets of my favourite scenes on my Instagram feed, dear readers – follow me @PinkTutuEmma to see them all! ?

Seeing such incredible artistry, the grace, the sheer emotion, it reminds me of why I fell in love with ballet all those years ago. ? And it inspires me, drives me to push myself harder in my own dancing. And let's face it, who doesn’t love a bit of inspiration and some glittery fashion inspiration, right?

A Fashion Fiesta:

Now, let’s be honest, New York is a dream come true for a fashionista like me! You could wander through this city for weeks and still discover new boutiques, designers, and styles. This trip, I fell head over heels for a beautiful, light-as-a-feather pink dress from a small independent designer. I found it tucked away on a quiet street, an absolute gem, and naturally, I had to add it to my collection. ?

And of course, no trip to NYC would be complete without a visit to Bloomingdale’s. It's the Mecca of fashion, a paradise of pinks, sequins, and all things stylish! ? It's truly the perfect place to pick up the essentials – those lovely little pieces that complete the look, that give you that extra oomph!

A Street Art Odyssey:

Evenings in NYC are truly special, offering a chance to soak in the atmosphere, admire the vibrant street art, and people-watch with a delightful cappuccino. Yes, I know – cappuccino? With a pink tutu? But you’ve gotta trust me – I have a special routine – I go for a morning stroll, pop by the café, grab a quick breakfast (tofu scramble anyone?) and, voila! Ready for the day, outfit perfect, feeling confident and ready to face the city head-on. ☕

The street art here is an incredible fusion of creativity, colours, and boldness, which is truly inspiring to my soul. ? It reminds me to embrace all the things that make us different, and to shine our own unique light onto the world.

Broadway Dreams:

Of course, no visit to New York would be complete without seeing a Broadway show! This week, I saw “Hamilton,” which is about as phenomenal as everyone says it is! ? From the music to the dancing to the stories, I was totally engrossed, leaving me feeling happy and hopeful, and inspired to push boundaries.

If you haven't seen it, put it on your to-do list ASAP!

Making the World Pink:

But back to my favourite subject - the tutu! As always, I tried to inspire as many people as possible to embrace their inner twirl. There’s no rule that says you have to be a ballerina to wear a tutu. Honestly, I firmly believe everyone has a little bit of magic inside them, waiting to be unleashed. ? A tutu can be the perfect symbol of that. It's all about freedom of expression, celebrating the beauty in every one of us. It’s all about spreading the joy of colour and a dash of fun in an often-grey world!

Pink Power and Positivism:

Each Monday I find myself back on my computer in Derbyshire, dreaming about the city, longing to slip on my tutu, to feel the energy of the Big Apple, and just, well, twirl. It's all about channeling that joy, that passion, and sharing it with the world, and you know what? My lovely readers, you’re all part of that journey! I can't wait to read your comments on this post - tell me all about your latest ballet adventures, your fashion triumphs, and your everyday joys.

This is what makes blogging, writing and spreading the message, so wonderful – you make my life complete! You all truly inspire me. ?

So, remember darlings, the world is your stage! Find your inner twirl, don’t be afraid to express your unique self, and never let anyone tell you that pink is not a powerful colour! ? I'll be here every Monday, ready to welcome you all back with another fun and pink post.

See you next week!

Love and Twirls, Emma
