Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #1677 - Monday 2027-07-26 - Dancing in the City That Never Sleeps!

Good morning, darlings! It's Monday, the sun is shining, and I'm writing to you from the very heart of New York City! You might say I'm feeling like I'm floating on air, but in my case, it's more like floating on a cloud of pink tulle! Oh, it feels so good to be back in this incredible metropolis, breathing in that intoxicating blend of honking taxis, hot dogs, and pure creative energy!

Last week was an absolute whirlwind. As you all know, I’m currently travelling on a tight schedule. After finishing my London performance at the Royal Opera House, I was back on that familiar, magical flight across the pond to the Big Apple. And why was I so excited? Let me tell you – New York is simply teeming with ballet opportunities, and this trip promises to be full of the most exhilarating experiences.

My Pink Tutu Adventures:

Right after I landed, it was straight into the metro (what an efficient way to travel!), then down to SoHo to meet with the most delightful lady at "The Pink Peacock" boutique. They’re just getting in their autumn collection, and let me tell you – we are talking some absolute beauties! Think velvet, lace, sequins… a tutu-lover’s paradise! I may have spent a little bit more than planned, but who could resist those adorable feather boas and feather tiaras? Let’s just say that my pink wardrobe got a very fabulous update.

Speaking of fabulous… last night was all about a trip to the Metropolitan Opera for their newest ballet production, “Firebird.” Oh, my word, it was pure magic! The staging was utterly breathtaking. Those feathered costumes for the chorus – well, I could hardly contain myself, and I even thought I saw some pink! The music was magnificent and the dancing was simply exquisite! The firebird herself… stunning! This is exactly why I do what I do, you see, this feeling of pure joy, pure artistry.

This week is packed with things, so hold on tight! First up is a meeting with a ballet shoe designer. You guys know my obsession with sparkly ballet shoes - it's just not a dance without that touch of glam. She’s also known for her exquisite hand-painted shoes and I think my pointe shoes need some attention. I’ll definitely be taking some pics for you to see.

After the meeting, it's off to Broadway for "Swan Lake," which is just so exciting as this performance will star one of my favorite ballerinas - Sarah DeVille. I simply must be there for her dazzling final scene.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to NYC without indulging in the fabulous street performances. I can’t wait to share my discoveries with you all! Maybe some salsa dancing in Central Park? A chance encounter with a captivating violinist? We'll have to see what fate has in store!

**My Top Picks in NYC:

**

This week’s “Top Picks in NYC" list is dedicated to you all, my darling pink-tutu lovers! I hope you love these:

  • For The Perfect Pink Latte: "Tutu Latte Cafe," (878 Broadway, New York, NY) - You heard me right! This cafe is owned by a fellow tutu-lover, and they do the most adorable pink lattes with a swirl of glitter! Plus, their pastries are a work of art. And they have a fantastic "Pink Tutu Collection" – all their coffee cups and merch are pink, which makes my heart skip a beat.

  • For A Tutu-licious Meal: “The Dancing Dumpling," (765 8th Ave, New York, NY) - You all know my love of all things dumpling! They have an amazing variety and a cozy pink-and-grey color scheme that will have you dreaming of pink tutus and dumpling heaven. The atmosphere is simply wonderful, perfect for catching up with friends over tea and yummy dumplings.

  • For Some Ballet Inspiration: The School of American Ballet (Lincoln Center Plaza) - Oh, this is an absolute MUST-SEE for every ballet lover! From the legendary studios to their incredible dance performances – you’ll be amazed. It’s the perfect place to experience the raw power and passion of ballet in all its glory!

Finding Your Inner Pink Tutu:

Now, for my daily dose of pink-tutu inspiration… this week, let's explore the wonderful world of fashion in the heart of New York! New York is simply buzzing with creativity – designers, models, photographers – it’s a visual feast! And it seems everyone has an incredible fashion sense! From the sophisticated silhouettes on the catwalks to the playful street style on the streets of Soho – the energy of the city just inspires such a dazzling mix of fashion trends. But here’s what I'm seeing that speaks to the very heart of what “Pink Tutu” means:

  • Pink is the new black: No longer just a spring colour, pink is dominating fashion trends with beautiful shades of pale rose, flamingo, and the ever-popular fuchsia! I’m loving it. Even the big designers have incorporated it into their runway collections – so chic and powerful.

  • Go bold with accessories: The accessories! Those are where things get truly exciting! From sparkling headbands to feathered bags and statement jewelry, they're a fun way to add that pink-tutu touch to any outfit. Remember, you don't need to wear a full-on pink tutu (though I recommend it!) – just a touch of sparkle, a hint of blush, and suddenly, you're glowing with confidence.

  • Embrace the Power of the Tutu: I'm constantly reminded how wearing a tutu can be an act of self-expression. It's a statement of fun, femininity, and confidence – it just makes you feel amazing! We're living in a time when individuality and creativity are celebrated – and what better way to embrace that than to wear a pink tutu? I believe every woman deserves a touch of pink tulle in their life, don’t you agree?

My Daily Dose of Pink Tutu:

Today I’m stepping out of my comfort zone (well, only a little bit, lol!). After visiting The Pink Peacock boutique this morning, I decided to embrace my pink-tutu love a bit more. Today’s ensemble is all about a gorgeous dusty rose pink, high-waisted, A-line skirt. I’ve paired it with a fitted black t-shirt, a vintage gold necklace and of course – my signature pink sparkly flats. My look? Well, let's just say that a little pink never hurt anyone!

Follow me on Instagram: @PinkTutuNYC - Join the movement, use the hashtag #PinkTutuLove and let me know what you’re wearing to feel your most confident self. Maybe I’ll share it on the blog!

And remember – just like a pink tutu, your life is meant to be twirled, danced, and embraced with joy! Have a wonderful week!

Much love, Emma xx

P.S. You might be wondering what's on in NYC on July 26th! Well, the 26th of July will see the iconic Greenwich Village Street Fair – a chance to get some fresh local produce and browse the stalls – all whilst taking in the atmosphere of a bustling New York street. This day is also set aside for a fascinating tour of the historic New York Public Library. A good reminder of all that history that the city has witnessed!
