Hello my darling dears! Welcome back to my weekly New York City blog, Pink Tutu Blog NYC, it's Monday 2027-09-27! Today, I'm bubbling with excitement, because my darling, I finally did it! I saw my very first Broadway show! But hold on, darlings, let's back up a little, and I'll tell you all about it...
You know how I love my pink tutus. Well, ever since I arrived in New York City (which you can read all about in past posts – there's quite a few!) I’ve had the most glorious idea for a photo shoot. My inspiration? The vibrant pink lights that decorate the Broadway theatre marquees. I thought, “What better way to celebrate my love for pink and Broadway than to waltz in a hot pink tutu and strike a pose?” Oh my darling, I must tell you, my photo shoot was absolutely sensational! I just couldn’t resist letting the New York City vibes seep into my soul, so I waltzed through the heart of Times Square in a glorious, billowing pink tutu, a perfect touch of vibrant colour against the dazzling cityscape. It felt, darling, as though my entire existence had become a scene out of a classic ballet. And as I twirled, every taxi, every bus, and every passing soul seemed to become part of my own personal, ever-growing stage.
My dears, let's be honest, life in a pink tutu isn't all fun and games, even in a city that welcomes anything and everything with open arms. You have to be a bit nimble, you have to keep on your toes, as they say, but honestly, it's a great way to live! But back to that Broadway show I mentioned! Oh darling, it was The Phantom of the Opera! Oh my dears, my very heart just swooned!
Firstly, the New Amsterdam Theatre - it is a true theatre jewel in the heart of Broadway! Its opulent beauty, from the grand entrance with its glistening chandeliers to the rich velvet seats within, absolutely stunned me. It felt as if the grand ladies and gentlemen of the past, in their fabulous frocks and tuxedos, had stepped aside just for me!
As for the performance… darling, what a captivating display! I found myself transported to the depths of Parisian opera, where the Phantom, with his masked and hauntingly beautiful visage, had such a dramatic impact. The music was truly mesmerizing – so full of power and passion. The talented dancers’ graceful movements in this dramatic ballet scene? Honestly, darling, the artistry of it all just took my breath away!
After the performance, I waltzed down to a darling little vintage boutique right in the heart of SoHo – just one of those glorious little places you have to just stumble upon! And, of course, I couldn't resist trying on every stunning piece, and oh darling, the shopping bags full of delights I carried back to my darling flat! So much inspiration for the week ahead!

I've always said, "Every girl needs a little bit of pink tutu magic in her life," but now, after my dazzling week in New York, my mission is clear, my darling, it’s time to start spreading the joy of pink tutus around the world. And now darlings, I’m going to give you a peek into my life in New York. Today I wanted to share the fun little things about my trip! It’s amazing how much you can do in this vibrant city!
- Fashion Frenzy: My sweet darlings, you can imagine the fun I've been having exploring the world of fashion in New York City! There are so many wonderful vintage clothing shops in New York City, each brimming with stunning styles that took my breath away! And while the shops are absolutely gorgeous, let's talk about those amazing outfits I see the stylish women wearing around town. From chic vintage dresses, the perfect fedora to some darling sneakers - each piece tells a story of confidence, joy and personal expression! Oh, it really fills my heart with inspiration to create more unique style ideas for my own outfits. I've been scouring those vintage clothing stores with glee and of course, adding more items to my darling collection – I’ve even added some adorable feather boas and sparkly hats – perfect for a pink tutu, right, darling?!
- Food Fancies: Let’s talk about New York food! It's not just delicious, darling; it's an experience. The energy and variety are amazing. And every restaurant, from fancy French bistros to the casual bagel cafes, they all have something amazing! Last week, I was treated to a sumptuous meal of pasta at an absolutely darling little Italian bistro on Bleecker Street. I mean, pasta, Italian style, I simply adore it! So many fabulous flavours! You simply can’t be in this city and miss out on some truly yummy bites! And as an extra special treat? You simply have to go to Katz's Delicatessen. Now I’ve eaten my fair share of bagels in Derbyshire, but dear darling, Katz’s? You must try the corned beef and a delicious mountain of dill pickles – you won't be sorry! And for dessert? I am living on pastries and New York City’s amazing, colourful cake! My absolute favourite? A bakery right near Central Park, where they make the most gorgeous cakes, full of rich cream and amazing sprinkles! Just picture the pink!
- The Artful Adventure: Every time I go to a new city, darling, I have to check out the museums. They’re just perfect for a quiet, soul-searching stroll and so good for a burst of creative energy. This time I headed straight to the MoMA – the Museum of Modern Art. You won’t believe the inspiration, dear! This museum holds incredible pieces of contemporary art that sparked so much joy and left my mind buzzing! And then there's the Met - the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s simply magnificent! It has everything from classical art to modern fashion, all the history, and beauty I could dream of in one space! You could spend days there and still just see a glimpse! After a walk through the Met, darling, you'll feel absolutely invigorated and ready for anything!
And I really love what this life has given me. It is full of beauty, the most amazing performances, yummy food and fashion. And I love sharing every single step with all of you! Now go put on your pink tutu! And tell me what amazing thing you will do today. I’m going to catch a show at The Gershwin Theatre, but shh…. you heard it here first, it’s top secret!
