Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, bringing you another slice of New York City magic straight from the heart of the Big Apple! This week has been a whirlwind of twirling, shopping, and show-stopping experiences. Get ready for a proper dose of pink, sequins, and, of course, tutus!

It’s been a bit chilly this week but that's nothing that a dash of pink and a whole lotta sparkles can’t fix, am I right?

As a self-proclaimed ambassador for the tutu, it’s my duty to bring a little bit of fairy tale whimsy to every corner of this extraordinary city. Trust me, a pink tutu works wonders on the dreary New York subway.

You'd be surprised how many smiles it elicits! People wave, some even take pictures, and the children, well, their faces light up like little stars. Honestly, there's nothing better than sharing the magic of ballet with the world!

You might remember, dear readers, I started this incredible journey back in my Derbyshire hometown. It felt like just yesterday, I was dreaming of pirouetting on Broadway. And here I am, living the dream, and, most importantly, sharing every beautiful moment with all of you!

It’s all thanks to my passion for dance and, of course, those fabulous ballet performances. Ever since I started getting paid for my love, I knew my pink tutu journey had only just begun.

I have to say, the support I receive from all you lovely lot motivates me more than any grand jeté! I can't express how grateful I am for all of your messages, comments, and even those sweet little tweets. You're all part of this magical pink tutu journey, so keep those pink tutu-positive vibes coming!

This week in New York City, I found myself falling in love with the fashion scene again.

The Fashion Week Runway this season is as incredible as ever! It’s like a giant stage for imagination, with every shade of the rainbow making an appearance, not to mention those gorgeous shoes!

Speaking of shoes, I’ve found my next sartorial obsession! The trendiest, most adorable ankle boots adorned with a tiny pink ribbon and sparkly sequins… just a wee touch of pink tutu magic! I’ve bought, of course, but more on those in a separate blog post - don’t worry, I won’t keep you waiting too long.

On Wednesday evening, I managed to squeeze in a performance of “Romeo and Juliet” at the Lincoln Center Theater. Oh my, it was spectacular! The sets were a beautiful blend of classical and modern, the music - an absolute masterpiece, and the acting was truly captivating! And then there was the tutus – glorious, flowing, pink! The highlight for me had to be Juliet’s magnificent tutu in that scene at the balcony! Just magnifique!

But then it happened! I actually got to meet a couple of the dancers backstage. Let me tell you, they were the nicest and most gracious people! I chatted with a lovely dancer named Lily. We talked about the pressure of performing in New York City, the love of ballet, and what else but … the pink tutu!

As she explained it, there’s nothing quite like feeling the sheer power and freedom of expressing yourself on the stage. A feeling I knew all too well. We talked about how we could make the pink tutu accessible to more dancers, because really, there is no other garment more suitable for dance, wouldn’t you agree? She promised to share my blog with her troupe and they would consider sporting a touch of pink on stage – just think of the Pink Tutu Revolution!

Lily, being an absolute star, also offered a tip – there’s a great dance class being held near the Grand Central Terminal on Saturday. I'll definitely be there - might even pop a few twirls on the way!

And now for my favorite bit! Of course, it all revolves around my dearest tutus. The city never disappoints when it comes to gorgeous tutus – from vibrant neon pink to delicate pale rose hues. Every store, from vintage boutiques to those department stores on Fifth Avenue, are brimming with beautiful ballet-inspired dresses. I’ve actually just snagged a new chiffon pink tutu! It's utterly heavenly, I tell you! And don’t even get me started on the feathers! I’m practically floating! I can’t wait to take it on the next spin around New York City. I will certainly be snapping pictures for my next post!

My little wanderlust for all things beautiful in New York City continues on, and there’s always something fabulous to be discovered! So, if you’re thinking of visiting NYC soon, I’ve prepared a few of my absolute favorite spots that’ll have your inner ballet princess swooning!

• Lincoln Center Theater: A must-visit for any theatre lover! Not just for those classic performances – although you won’t regret them, trust me. It's also perfect for finding a glimpse of inspiration in the bustling heart of New York. Don’t forget to explore the gardens and grab some delicious pastries at the cafe while you’re at it.
• The Grand Central Terminal: This grand, majestic space offers more than just transport. It’s truly breathtaking. Grab a delicious bagel and just enjoy the beauty of this timeless New York City landmark! Be sure to check out the food hall for some scrumptious treats, my favourite is “Alice’s Tea Cup” - they have the most divine lemon tarts.
• Brooklyn Bridge Park: A wonderful retreat from the bustling streets – take a moment to reflect, take in those stunning skyline views. Or, even better - pop on a tutu and go for a pirouette - just watch out for the birds!
• Fifth Avenue: Oh, how I love to indulge in some fashion therapy. If you’re looking to expand your pink tutu wardrobe, this is the place for it! You'll find countless stores full of gorgeous clothing and the trendiest shoes to really elevate that ballerina style! Don’t be shy, pop into those high-end department stores and get that fashion fix – the sales staff are amazing!

It’s moments like these that remind me why I moved to New York!
