This week's blog is all about the vibrant energy of Manhattan, where the streets are paved with dreams (and some seriously stylish shoes!) As usual, I'm embracing the city with open arms, twirling through Times Square and dipping my toes (quite literally, in a pair of sparkly ballet flats, naturally) into the city's thriving dance scene.
From Derbyshire to the Big Apple: A Ballerina's Dream
It's been a whirlwind since I hopped off the plane from Derbyshire. The sights, the sounds, the sheer energy of New York City... it's a dream come true! But let's rewind a little bit.
For those of you who haven't met me yet (hello, welcome!), I'm Emma, and I've always had a soft spot for the colour pink, an unwavering adoration for tutus, and a deep passion for ballet. Now, imagine those things colliding with the vibrant backdrop of New York City, and you'll get a taste of my little corner of the world!

You might be wondering how I manage to finance all these fantastic adventures? Well, you'll be pleased to hear it's thanks to the magic of ballet! My performances pay for my travels, my wardrobe, and, of course, the occasional slice of New York cheesecake. You might say, I live, breathe, and twirl ballet – but in the most glamorous way possible!
A Pink Tutu Takes the Metro
This week, I discovered the thrill of navigating New York City by metro! It's like a whirlwind of colours, sounds, and, yes, even smells, but the energy is electric! Imagine me, twirling down the stairs in my trusty pink tutu, the sound of the train's announcement system creating its own rhythm for my steps. Honestly, it was a little ballet performance in itself!
And of course, a tutu requires the right outfit. My latest conquest was a gorgeous, ruby-red vintage dress from a charming vintage boutique in Brooklyn. Paired with my favourite ballet flats, I felt ready to tackle any corner of this fascinating city!
The City That Never Sleeps – And Neither Do I
The New York ballet scene is alive and thriving! This weekend, I had the absolute privilege of seeing a performance by the prestigious New York City Ballet. It was breathtaking. The elegance of their movements, the incredible choreography... it left me wanting more, which is always a good sign in a ballet performance, wouldn't you say?
There's a magical, infectious energy about ballet performances here in New York. I watched people of all ages, from little kids in their sparkly costumes to stylish New Yorkers in their best evening wear, captivated by the grace and beauty on stage. It's something truly special.
Tutus in Times Square:
And of course, my favourite spot in the whole city is Times Square. Imagine the sheer wonder! All those vibrant billboards, the pulsating lights, and the feeling of endless possibilities swirling around you. Honestly, it's the perfect backdrop for a ballerina's dreams! I spent an afternoon doing some impromptu photo shoots, feeling like I'd stepped into a dream, and I can’t wait to share them all with you soon.

Speaking of dreams, I've set myself a mission to make the world a more vibrant and stylish place, one pink tutu at a time. My goal? To inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu and embrace the power of colour and self-expression.

P.S. Today is the annual Macy's Fourth of July Parade. And while I wouldn't be caught dead in a giant inflatable float, the energy is definitely worth seeing! A bit of classic Americana to balance out all the dazzling pink tutus in my world.
