Hello darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, back with another scintillating entry from the bustling streets of New York City! As you know, I've always been smitten with the Big Apple, with its electrifying energy and vibrant streets. I'm practically in love with its infectious excitement, and of course, the incredible fashion scene. You simply can't beat the fabulousness of a New York fashion spree!
Speaking of fashion, you might be wondering: what on earth am I wearing today? Well, my dear readers, for my foray into the concrete jungle today, I've opted for a gorgeous shade of blush pink tulle. Yes, that's right, another glorious pink tutu, this one a playful, whimsical design with delicate floral embroidery! It's absolutely perfect for waltzing through the city, don't you think?
This past week has been absolutely bursting with ballet goodness. I've had the most divine time catching a performance by the New York City Ballet, who always leave me absolutely speechless with their effortless grace and breathtaking artistry. They danced a classic, Swan Lake, and as you know, I'm eternally obsessed with Tchaikovsky's beautiful score. My favourite bit, of course, is the White Swan pas de deux – the way the two ballerinas melt into each other's movements is truly captivating! I've also been making time for regular classes at the gorgeous Baryshnikov Arts Center, always working on those tours and fouetté sequences! You wouldn't believe the stamina these city dwellers have! It makes you wonder how they manage to keep up with their busy lifestyles, while always managing to look impeccable in their crisp suits and tailored dresses. They're definitely inspiring me to raise my own barre game!
This weekend, though, was all about taking in the cultural delights that New York has to offer. On Saturday, I ventured to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to lose myself in the grand history and artistic brilliance it holds. They currently have a fascinating exhibition showcasing fashion design through the decades, which was utterly mesmerising. It's wonderful seeing the evolution of trends, the way designers have redefined what we consider stylish, and it definitely inspired a few of my own outfit ideas, too. It's crazy how some styles seem to return with each passing year, isn't it? There's a definite 80s feel creeping back into the fashion scene. Remember that bold use of colour? I think we can expect to see even more of that coming through soon, particularly in vibrant shades like magenta, sapphire, and of course... pink! Speaking of, I even snagged a glorious, silky-soft vintage pink satin top at the flea market on the Lower East Side. It was only five dollars, and it's definitely going to be a new staple in my wardrobe! I even found some darling antique costume jewellery – you know I love me a bit of sparkle, right?
But my absolute highlight of the week? I attended the NYC Ballet's annual fundraiser gala. You wouldn't believe the glitter! So many gorgeous outfits, breathtaking diamonds, and a sea of sophisticated faces all supporting the arts. And yes, you guessed it, my dear readers, I even dared to wear my pink tutu! Of course, it was a much more demure design – a pale pink satin with sparkling sequins for this occasion. After all, one mustn't forget that some events call for a little more polish and finesse, you see? Let's just say it made for some unforgettable photos with the New York Ballet's beautiful dancers!
It's a bit bittersweet saying goodbye to New York City again. I'll miss the energy, the creativity, the constant buzz of something exciting always just around the corner. However, I can't wait to return to the vibrant beauty of this magical city and continue to dance my way through the streets!
And, before I go, I have an exciting announcement! As some of you may know, I've recently completed a series of ballet street performances in several towns back home in Derbyshire! It's been amazing spreading the love for dance and sharing my passion with new audiences. I absolutely adore seeing the delight in their faces when I perform. It's such a fantastic reminder that dancing is about connection, joy, and sharing the magic of movement. So, stay tuned – who knows what exciting projects I'll be revealing next week!
For now, let's all remember: no dream is too big! Keep reaching for the stars, my darlings. And always, always, embrace your inner pink tutu-wearing ballerina. Until next week, stay radiant and keep on twirling!
Love,

Emma’s Favourite Pink Tutu Outfit This Week:The outfit that made a statement on Monday at my first day of ballet class at Baryshnikov Arts Center:
1. Pink Tutu: A lightweight blush tulle tutu, accented with hand-stitched floral embroidery. A soft blush tulle and pink satin ribbon create the perfect touch of whimsy.
2. Blush Satin Top: With a delicate butterfly print on the neckline, the satin top was perfect for a simple yet elegant look.
3. Sparkling Ballerina Flats: These were definitely not just for the barre, I wore these for most of the day, the sparkles give an added flair for dancing, strolling the city or whatever my adventures brought!
4. Pale pink faux fur Bolero: To be chic but practical for the brisk NY evening
5. A sparkling vintage diamante pin: Found at the Lower East Side Flea Market. To add some more glam and add an extra touch of bling to the top of my bun.

As I finish writing, the sun is setting over New York City and it's painting the sky with a gorgeous spectrum of colour. It’s hard not to be filled with excitement as I watch the lights of the city begin to glimmer and the air fills with the sounds of distant laughter and chatter. There’s a unique magic to this city. A beautiful, slightly surreal atmosphere that makes you feel as though anything is possible. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow, and to the adventures that lie ahead in New York City. Maybe even a pink tutu ice skating adventure? That’s a great idea for next week’s post.
Thanks for joining me on my New York City adventure today, my darlings. Until next Monday!
