Hello darlings! It’s Monday morning, which can only mean one thing: it's time for another fabulous #PinkTutuBlogNYC post! I’m so excited to be back with you all, bubbling with excitement after the most wonderful weekend in the city that never sleeps! I feel like every week is a whirlwind adventure in New York City, and this week was no different.
Let’s start this Monday with a little pep in our step! I always feel like a little dance in a fluffy pink tutu is the perfect way to wake up. I've even taken to carrying a compact travel-sized tutu in my handbag. You never know when the opportunity for a spontaneous pirouette might strike!
Speaking of dancing, the highlight of this week was undoubtedly the opportunity to see the Royal Ballet perform at the Metropolitan Opera House! I have to tell you, dear readers, I simply cannot get over the breathtaking beauty of seeing these graceful ballerinas dancing live on stage. There is something so special about live performances, it's truly magical.
But before I spill the tea on all the theatrical brilliance I experienced this weekend, let me tell you all about my latest New York fashion find! Because, you know me, I can't visit a new city without adding a little bit of their unique style to my wardrobe! I am head-over-heels in love with this stunning new floral print pink tutu I snagged from a vintage boutique in the West Village. Let's just say I can already imagine myself twirling through the cobbled streets of the village, all the while radiating pink floral sweetness.
Now, let’s jump back to the performance, shall we? The Royal Ballet absolutely captivated the audience. We’re talking tutus, tiaras, and all the theatricality your heart could desire - every dancer so precise and graceful, effortlessly moving to the mesmerizing rhythms of the orchestra. I was glued to the stage the entire time, lost in a world of beautiful dance and storytelling.
After the performance, we indulged in a decadent hot chocolate and petit fours at a nearby cafe, buzzing with excitement and reviewing our favourite moments from the show. My darling friend Lucy and I gushed about the impressive technical skill and breathtaking choreography for what felt like hours! This was followed by a stroll through Central Park, where we enjoyed the spring blooms and soak in the crisp evening air. We even took a photo of ourselves by the Bethesda Terrace, naturally in our pink tutus, of course! I love the playful way this pink tutu pairs with anything and everything in my wardrobe - it truly embodies the fun and free spirit of New York.
Sunday morning arrived bright and early, with a plan to finally conquer the famed Bryant Park Ice Rink! You may be wondering why an avid tutu enthusiast would want to go ice skating, but let me tell you, there is something wonderfully whimsical about twirling on the ice - in a pink tutu, naturally! I must say, I definitely struggled with some of the more technical maneuvers - the occasional tumble, a slight loss of balance - all part of the charm! It was truly the perfect way to complete our magical weekend in New York.
Speaking of magic, it wouldn’t be a true #PinkTutuBlogNYC post without mentioning my travels on the beloved NYC subway. You know I love hopping onto the metro for its speedy convenience. It's almost an unwritten rule that I find myself constantly humming Broadway tunes on the way to my destinations. This time I was lucky to have a view out of the train window of some stunning architecture! I felt a pang of nostalgia, remembering my childhood journeys on the tube back in Derbyshire.
This week's #PinkTutuBlogNYC post couldn’t have ended on a more perfect note: a decadent brunch at an adorable little cafe, all the way uptown in the Upper East Side. I tried a pancake tower – and don't worry, it came adorned with a delightful sprinkle of pink sugar!
Now tell me, my dearest readers, what are you wearing today? Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina – after all, it’s all about adding a dash of pink tutu magic to our lives. As for me, I'll be spinning my way through the city, feeling as though the whole world is my stage. Remember, darlings, with every step and every twirl, we create our own little slice of magic.
Until next Monday, happy twirling!
Love,
Emma
