Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #1780 - Monday 2029-07-16: New York, New York, I Love You!

Hey, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, and I'm back in New York City for another week of ballet-filled fun, fabulous fashion finds, and adventures around this amazing metropolis.

This week, I’m starting off with a pink with a bang. My fabulous tutus have just arrived from a collaboration with the New York Fashion Week team (eek, I know, so exciting!) and I've been bursting with excitement to try them out. We've got shimmering, twirling, pink dreams come true.

You can catch a glimpse on Instagram (@pinktutuemma), of course!

This week is packed with activities, all centred around ballet (naturally!)

Here's my itinerary:

  • Tuesday: Today is a treat - a trip to the Met to see their exhibition, “Dances of the World.” The ballet section promises to be mesmerising. I’ll also try to capture a couple of outfits in front of those breathtaking displays!

  • Wednesday: It’s ballet class in the morning! You can’t miss out on this even when you’re in New York. I love learning new techniques and meeting other dancers – always buzzing with exciting, talented souls in these classes. I'll post about my experience and where the best class is on the blog soon. You guys love these kind of recommendations, right?

  • Thursday: “New York State of Mind,” as they say, will be put to the test. After my ballet lesson, I'm hitting the city for a spot of serious fashion exploration. The shops on Fifth Avenue are just calling to me. Maybe a pair of stylish shoes to compliment my tutus, or a fab statement necklace for an evening look. I’ll post photos of the best bits and tell you all about it.

  • Friday: This is the BIG ONE! I am so excited! A gala performance of "The Nutcracker" by the New York City Ballet! Tickets for this sold out months ago! It's the most beautiful Christmas ballet I've ever seen. A huge privilege to be here! Can’t wait to tell you all about it. I’ll take some gorgeous shots from the audience (shhh…not during the performance). And, of course, I'll post a picture of me in a fabulous tutu before the performance!

  • Saturday: The highlight of the week for me! “A Celebration of Dance” at the American Ballet Theatre. This event brings together renowned choreographers and dancers from across the globe for an unbelievable night of talent. There are dancers, musicians, even fashion designers from all over. Can’t wait to see the fabulous performances and to meet some other ballet enthusiasts. I’ll make sure you get all the gossip about who’s who.

  • Sunday: It's all about “me time” on a Sunday. A late lie-in and breakfast in bed with a copy of Ballet International. That’s how you do Sunday in New York City. Maybe I'll also go on an adventure in the park (weather permitting, of course!) but probably in my comfy, soft, everyday ballet shoes… the "Emma special," of course. Think comfy, with just a dash of pink. (What else?)

Of course, my blog post will feature a stunning photo of me in my favourite pink tutu.

It's not all about dancing, though. There are hidden gems everywhere you look. I’m a bit of a metro enthusiast, you know. A bit of an “urban explorer” with my favourite “pink” pass – and don’t forget, pink tutu for any special journeys, darling!

Let me tell you a little secret: This time in New York I discovered this little haven called The Little Tutus Bakery, and my, my, they were exquisite. There’s a bakery here, on 26th street called The Little Tutus Bakery. I simply couldn’t leave without taking home a box of the cutest ballerina-themed cookies. You just can't leave a pink tutu themed bakery, with your hands empty. (And don’t worry, they’re gluten free too - you’re all good on those.)

And of course, no trip to NYC is complete without a visit to Times Square. There’s something so alive and energising about it. That “bright lights, big city” feeling…

The magic of the city is something I find very inspiring, And who knows, maybe one day, you’ll see a pink tutu dancing across a stage in Times Square! (Just an idea...)

I’ve met some really interesting people since moving to New York, so keep an eye out for some fun "Street Style" posts - showing you guys the most creative outfits, you know.

I'm hoping to take more fun snaps to show you this week’s looks. As always, I'll be adding them to Instagram and updating my Pink Tutu fashion blog on www.pink-tutu.com – where you’ll find a whole lot more detail than I can fit into this blog.

*Oh, and while I'm on the topic of pink, what a beautiful, vibrant colour, isn't it? Pink is my absolute favourite! It's just so bright and cheerful. I feel fabulous when I wear pink, and so much of the inspiration for the blog, well, it all comes down to a dash of *pink, doesn't it?

Pink makes the world a more beautiful place. (That's my new mantra. What do you think?)**

One thing I want to ask you lovely, supportive readers: tell me your favourite spots in New York City. I'd love to hear about what you’re discovering!

Until next week, my lovelies!

Yours,

Emma
xo

P.S. This blog is part-time darling! You know I have a career to think about too. I fund my trips and all of this crazy fun by performing in ballet. My pink tutu helps to fund all these fab travels. It takes lots of twirling, leaping and graceful moves to keep this blogger girl on the road!
