Pink Tutu Blog NYC #1781: A Whirlwind of Pink in the Big Apple! ?✨

Hello, my darlings! Emma here, back from another whirlwind week in the city that never sleeps – New York City! I know, I know, it's practically a cliche to be in love with this vibrant city, but I can't help it – the energy, the fashion, the sheer dazzling spectacle of it all… it’s absolutely intoxicating.

This week has been especially spectacular, filled to the brim with performances, shopping sprees, and enough pink to make even the most ardent monochrome devotee blush (although, let’s face it, anyone who reads my blog already knows I’m firmly Team Pink! ).

First things first, though… you absolutely need to know that, wouldn’t you believe it, I spotted the most darling pink tutu on my way to the station this morning! A fellow tutu enthusiast, perhaps? A kindred spirit on her way to spread a little bit of pink magic? I waved and winked as she skipped down the street, her pink tulle dancing in the sunshine. (It really makes me smile to see other tutus out and about in the world! Wouldn't you agree, my dears? Let’s turn this whole city pink! ?✨)

Oh! Did I forget to mention that this is the Monday the 23rd of July? It’s also National Hot Dog Day! As luck would have it, I happened to be in the vicinity of a fantastic hot dog stand after my ballet class. (I mean, there's no better way to fuel up after an intense class than a classic American hot dog, right?)

Speaking of my class…

I finally tried out that new ballet studio I'd been eyeing up on 5th Avenue, "Dance Your Heart Out" - darling name, isn’t it? Let me tell you, the place was bursting with energy! They have a fantastic dance floor and incredible windows looking out over Central Park. It really felt like the kind of space where you can let loose and become fully immersed in the joy of movement. I was definitely going for "effortless elegance," but ended up getting a bit carried away with a particularly spirited fouette en tournant, nearly losing my shoe in the process! (Who knew ballet shoes could be so easily lost in the heat of the moment? Honestly, darling, I think it needs to be written about…)

The City that Never Stops… Performing!

Anyway, later that evening, I caught a performance at the New York City Ballet at the Lincoln Center. Absolutely magical! The “Swan Lake” was even more mesmerizing than I'd imagined. Those delicate, elegant moves… the way the dancers seemed to float across the stage… the dramatic, sweeping melodies... truly a delight! (By the way, did you know that July marks National Hot Dog Month? It’s not just the 23rd, folks! Who knew?)

Afterward, I popped into my favourite little Parisian cafe tucked away on a quiet corner off Broadway for some steaming hot cocoa. The air was thick with the fragrance of freshly baked croissants and chatter, and the low light gave the whole place a cozy, Parisian feel. Such a welcome respite from the whirlwind of the city. I had to laugh because… the most perfectly pink macron appeared next to me. As if the universe itself was hinting at the kind of evening I should be having! I mean, it was meant to be. The perfect finish to a perfect evening.

But of course, no visit to New York would be complete without some shopping!

This weekend, I went for a wander through SoHo – an absolute treasure trove of vintage treasures and independent boutiques. My bag’s already brimming with little treasures. Some stunning earrings, a delicate velvet hair scarf… oh, and I simply had to pick up that exquisite, cherry-red satin dress I’ve been lusting after! (It pairs so perfectly with a pink tutu… just sayin’!)

So there you have it! My New York escapade this week was jam-packed with all the magic, charm, and, of course, pink that this vibrant city can offer. It's a place where dreams truly come to life! (It would be a shame if it didn’t… because my next stop on the tour? London! Stay tuned!)

Oh! You can check out more about my weekly exploits by clicking over to my main website www.pink-tutu.com or finding me on all the usual social media haunts!

And if you're reading this and have a pink tutu in your closet, take a moment to put it on! Give a twirl and remind the world why we all need a little more pink in our lives.

Happy twirling, my darlings!

Emma
