Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! - Post #45

Saturday 4th November 2000

Oh là là! I'm back in Paris, my darlings, and it feels so good to be here! As I sit here in my hotel room, overlooking the beautiful Parisian skyline, the scent of freshly baked bread wafting in from the boulangerie below, I can't help but feel like a little ballerina twirling in the heart of a dream. This week has been filled with exciting adventures, chic fashion discoveries, and a sprinkle of Parisian magic.

My journey began in the lovely Derbyshire countryside. I said goodbye to my darling family, kissed my pet gerbils, and hopped onto the EuroStar in my most glamorous pink tutu (naturally!), ready for a whirlwind weekend in the City of Lights. The EuroStar journey is always a treat - so comfy and quick! Plus, there's something about zooming through Europe at high speed that always gets me in a fabulous mood.

I arrived in Paris feeling invigorated and ready to explore. My mission? To share with you all the gorgeousness and wonder that this incredible city has to offer. So, put on your best pink tutu (it's totally acceptable here!), grab a croissant, and let's take a tour of my Parisian paradise.

A Day at the Palais Garnier

One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to the iconic Palais Garnier, the stunning home of the Paris Opera. I felt like a real ballerina stepping into a fairy tale! Everything was so grand and elegant - the marble staircases, the golden chandeliers, the velvet curtains - it was truly breathtaking. And let's not forget the magnificent auditorium with its dazzling fresco!

The opera house is a sight to behold! Its grand facade, adorned with ornate statues and delicate carvings, is a statement of artistic mastery. The foyer is just as impressive, boasting soaring columns and elegant archways that whisper tales of past glories. But it's the auditorium that truly takes your breath away. With its opulent red velvet seats, exquisite balconies, and breathtaking chandeliers that glimmer like a galaxy of stars, it's the ultimate setting for a spectacular performance.

Sadly, I couldn't catch a performance this time around, but simply being in the presence of such artistic beauty was an absolute treat! It felt like a dream, and I could imagine myself gliding across the stage in a dazzling pink tutu, a symphony of graceful movements captivating the audience.

Chic Shopping Spree

Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without a bit of retail therapy! I spent a day wandering the glamorous boutiques of the Marais district, my senses tantalized by the exquisite creations on display. The craftsmanship was incredible - every stitch and seam a testament to French design expertise.

I picked up the most beautiful blush pink satin handbag at a tiny boutique tucked away in a cobbled alley, adorned with intricate floral embroidery that brought a touch of vintage Parisian charm. And I couldn't resist adding a silk scarf printed with a delicate floral pattern to my collection. I swear, Parisian fashion knows how to work a touch of floral! It just adds that perfect feminine touch.

Dining in Parisian Style

For lunch, I found myself nestled in a cozy Parisian café, indulging in a plate of freshly baked pastries with a steaming cup of rich, creamy hot chocolate. There's something about the simplicity and the charm of French patisserie that makes it an absolute joy. Each bite was like a delicate explosion of flavour, a symphony of sweetness and buttery delight!

In the evening, I indulged in a dinner fit for a queen at a traditional bistro near my hotel. The menu featured the most delectable French delicacies: rich terrine, succulent duck confit, and, of course, creamy profiteroles for dessert. All served with a lovely bottle of Bordeaux.

Dancing Through the Night

As a passionate ballerina, a trip to Paris would not be complete without some ballet dancing. I took a class at a delightful studio tucked away in the heart of the city, surrounded by fellow ballet enthusiasts who shared my passion for graceful movement.

Our instructor, a graceful Frenchwoman with twinkling eyes, took us through a series of intricate exercises that warmed our bodies and awakened our spirits. I felt so invigorated and alive! After class, I treated myself to a slice of cake in the charming little bakery around the corner, where I discovered a pink macaron! This was the most Parisian day imaginable, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride Through the City of Lights

One of my favourite experiences was a magical ride through the city in a horse-drawn carriage. There’s just something romantic and fairytale-like about being drawn through the heart of Paris by a beautiful white steed. I felt like I was in a film, all swirling Parisian elegance!

We rode past some of Paris' most iconic landmarks - the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Champs-Élysées. Seeing these stunning sights lit up by the golden Parisian evening light was truly unforgettable! The cobbled streets, the flickering streetlights, and the romantic atmosphere made this journey one of the highlights of my Parisian adventure.

Finding My Inner Parisian

Paris truly has this enchanting aura - I found myself lost in its magical streets, wandering down hidden alleys, and discovering new gems with every turn. I was mesmerised by the way sunlight bounced off the golden arches of the Eiffel Tower, and the sound of street performers blending with the constant murmur of city life. The French women are incredibly chic - they wear such interesting outfits and embrace their femininity in a way that's truly inspiring!

Living in Pink

As always, I made sure my outfits were perfectly pink - I felt right at home amongst the glamorous boutiques and Parisian ladies. In my collection of gorgeous pink tutus, I have one with a dazzling silver sparkle, which is perfect for adding a touch of Parisian chic. I wore my pink tutu with a classic black beret and a bright pink cashmere scarf that whispered of a delicate ballet performance - this was definitely my best Paris outfit yet. I truly believe that everyone deserves to feel the freedom and confidence of twirling in a pink tutu!
