#PinkTutuBlogParis: Week 54: Oh La La, Paris!

Bonjour mes chéries!

It's Saturday again, so it's time to whisk you all away to the City of Lights, where I, Emma from Derbyshire, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina blogger, have landed! This week, I hopped on the Eurostar and made my way to the French capital for a whirlwind tour of all things chic and fabulous! You can see a snippet of the journey, complete with a tres magnifique Parisian street scene on my Instagram feed, so pop over there and have a gander at my adventures.

Of course, any trip to Paris for me wouldn't be complete without a healthy dose of ballet. This week, the "Ballet OpĂ©ra" have a fantastic programme running and on Saturday 6th January, "Giselle" graced the stage of the "Palais Garnier," I managed to score two fabulous tickets and I even managed to wear my new sparkly pink tutu to the show. It's so chic! You just have to wear a pink tutu when you're in Paris. Even if it’s on top of your winter coat and underneath a big furry hat, the city is made for ballet tutus!

If I wasn't completely immersed in the magic of Giselle and its beautiful choreography, then I was getting lost in the glorious world of Paris fashion. It's impossible not to feel inspired by the style here, it's truly captivating.

A girl can't go to Paris without at least one or two visits to a fantastic shopping centre! My feet haven't stopped since I arrived in the capital. From the elegant "Galeries Lafayette" and the magnificent "Printemps" on the famous "Boulevard Haussmann," to the charming boutiques on the "rue Saint Honoré" and the cute shops tucked away on "rue de la "Bûcherie," I have literally been wandering through a Parisian fashion haven since I stepped off the Eurostar! Paris is just divine. And let's be honest - every girl loves shopping in Paris, especially when wearing a gorgeous pink tutu!

Even on my short trip to Paris, I've managed to cram in plenty of fun experiences, which, of course, included plenty of delectable French cuisine. I tried escargots for the first time (it was... interesting, to say the least!) but you can bet I didn't miss the chance to indulge in a croque monsieur at "Cafe de Flore" and some fantastic pastry and a "creme brulee" at "Angelina". Paris really is the perfect place to satisfy all your taste buds. I may even have had a few "macarons" from "Laduree" too.

I am also smitten with the little pink French bakeries - and I think they might have an excellent tutu selection too. It was certainly something that needed investigating...

Now, I'm starting to feel that lovely jet-lagged feeling but I can still remember my whirlwind Paris trip perfectly. The cobblestone streets, the bustling markets, the friendly Parisian locals, the delicious French "gateau." Oh, it's truly been amazing. There was even a gorgeous French ballerina outside the Opera in her gorgeous ballet outfit that reminded me to keep up my ballet practise as this week, I had a solo recital at a local theatre and I didn't want to let the crowd down.

There's one important tip I learnt during my trip, which I thought I'd share: make sure you try "la croque monsieur" and take some fabulous Parisian "Parisiennes" fashion tips back with you! I’ll be adding some of them to my "Pink Tutu Look Book," which is proving quite a popular item for many of my lovely readers who have their own special lookbook.

Well, I must say Au revoir to Paris now - but I'm planning a trip to this wonderful city at the end of this year - so I'll be back to share all my new and fun pink tutu adventures then!

For now, I am going to have to find a nice quiet place and get into the wonderful and fabulous world of a "croque monsieur," a good book, a delicious "crepes" and of course, a lovely pink tutu!

A bientĂŽt! Emma

The Parisian Ballet.

The ballet has always held a very special place in my heart, and in many ways it is a key inspiration to why I love wearing pink tutus. The tutu is an integral part of ballet dancing - in the form of a delicate and whimsical skirt which flows around the ballerina in the graceful and magical movement of a ballet. The ballerina is both feminine and powerful in a tutu - a combination which resonates deeply with me, it makes me feel confident, creative, powerful, feminine and completely unstoppable! The power of a ballet dancer to transform their energy and beauty into something stunning is what makes the ballet so fascinating, enchanting and inspiring, particularly when you witness them performing at a theatre.

The ballet always fascinates me. Its ability to convey so many emotions using movement is simply astounding! When you have ballet in Paris, in one of its many elegant theatres, you get a beautiful and exquisite blend of art, culture and grace. It was wonderful to witness the elegant Parisian ballets this week in this beautiful and chic city! I’ve certainly been taking note of some stunning moves and new techniques - all with the intent to perfect them on the ballet stage, at the studio or simply when I’m at home dancing around in a pink tutu.

I think I just found myself the most stunning ballerina outfit! I couldn't possibly resist and I have already placed an order to bring a new ballet costume home from Paris... and you better believe it is pink! I have been to so many shops with all the gorgeous ballet and dance gear! The city seems to radiate beauty, elegance, and grace, making Paris the perfect destination for any ballet enthusiast. But remember that the beauty doesn’t end there! I can't mention Paris and ballet without mentioning the "Ballet OpĂ©ra", which is certainly one of the most important and revered ballet companies in the world!

Paris is my happy place
and of course - my Pink Tutu too!

Paris is certainly not a "boring" city and there is plenty going on around me here, which is probably why it is such a happy place. My time in this French haven is spent well exploring Paris with its hidden treasures, enjoying the delightful food and cafes and seeing some brilliant fashion and shows. Oh, Paris, how you steal my heart! The culture is very much present in every aspect of Paris and it's certainly a city you never tire of visiting, regardless of what is happening on this week in Paris!

And there you have it! Another amazing adventure in the City of Lights. I’m ready for my next journey
and my next pink tutu outfit!
