Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #77 - Saturday 16th June, 2001 - Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, reporting live from the utterly enchanting city of Paris! The air hums with romance and joie de vivre, and the cobbled streets whisper tales of artists and dreamers. Oh, darling, Paris really does live up to its reputation - it’s every bit as charming, romantic and utterly chic as you’ve ever imagined!

This week I’ve whisked myself across the channel by Eurostar, a journey that was pure magic. Even the train felt so effortlessly glamorous! I donned my trusty pink tutu for the journey, of course, and paired it with a crisp white shirt, a pearl necklace and my darling red beret. It seems the French love a splash of pink as much as I do - they absolutely adored my ensemble!

Arriving in Gare du Nord, I was swept up in a whirlwind of Parisian life - the scent of freshly baked bread, the melody of buskers’ tunes and the hurried bustle of Parisians going about their day. After a delicious lunch at a charming café overlooking the Seine, it was time to explore. And darling, explore I did!

My first stop was the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral. It's majestic and magnificent, a true architectural masterpiece. I was so entranced by its beauty that I forgot all about my ballet class! Don't worry, though, I didn't miss it completely - I'll be going to a fantastic Parisian ballet studio tomorrow morning, just in time to work off all the pastries I've been indulging in!

Speaking of indulging, you wouldn't believe the treasures I found at the vintage clothing market! It was an absolute dreamland of floral prints, luxurious fabrics and exquisitely tailored pieces. Imagine my delight when I found a gorgeous vintage pink tutu, the colour of a blushing rose! It was practically calling my name, darling. I had to add it to my collection.

And let’s talk about food, my darlings. Every meal here is an absolute treat! The freshest pastries, creamy café au lait, the most exquisite cheese - and don't even get me started on the macarons! They're literally heaven on a plate! Oh, to think, there's a charming bakery just across the street from my little apartment - I’ll be taking full advantage of their tempting wares throughout the week, I assure you.

Today was dedicated to the delights of Paris, but tomorrow is going to be all about culture and art! I'm off to the Palais Garnier to see the ballet - the exquisite costumes, the breathtaking choreography, and the beautiful stories woven through graceful movement - there’s simply nothing quite like it! And trust me, I’m ready to be swept away. You’ll find me back here next week with all the Parisian ballet news and even more fashion inspiration - so don’t forget to check in and read about all my adventures!

Until then, darlings, be bold, embrace your individuality and never be afraid to twirl in a pink tutu! It's a great way to spread a little bit of joy in the world!

Bisous,

Emma xx

P.P.S Remember, if you have a passion for ballet, even if it's just twirling in your own living room, never be afraid to follow your dreams! And maybe, just maybe, you'll inspire others to do the same. Because life, my darlings, is a beautiful dance, and everyone should be given the opportunity to twirl!
