#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 76: Paris, Mon Amour!

Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, the 9th of June, 2001, and Emma here, reporting live from the City of Lights! Oh Paris, you are such a dream come true! And you know what's even more exciting? I arrived by Eurostar! A luxurious, swift train journey that transported me from my quaint Derbyshire home right into the heart of Paris. Honestly, the romanticism of it all almost brought tears to my eyes!

This trip has been brewing for months. After all, there's only so much tutu twirling you can do in the Derbyshire countryside! (Even with my most magical outfits!). My ballet performances have been absolutely fantastic recently – I think my newfound appreciation for 'The Nutcracker' really brought it home! I always feel so alive when I dance, and it's not just my muscles getting a workout; it's my spirit soaring!

The moment I landed at Gare du Nord, the familiar Parisian charm swept me up. The elegant architecture, the scent of croissants, the sound of laughter bubbling up from street cafés... I knew I was home! And of course, it was straight to my hotel! (Who could resist a perfectly pink boutique hotel just a skip and a hop from the Champs-Élysées?!)

A Day of Parisian Delight

So today, darling, has been nothing short of a fairytale. My agenda? Exploring the beautiful sights, of course! And what could be a better way to start than with a long, leisurely stroll down the Champs-Élysées, my pink tutu swirling as I passed? The sun was out, casting a warm, golden glow over the iconic avenue, and the shops! Oh, the shops! Each one a treasure trove of Parisian chic. There were so many dresses and accessories to make a girl swoon. A tiny, hand-painted, pink teacup set with delicate forget-me-nots almost stole my heart. I even saw the most beautiful pair of pale pink ballet flats, absolutely perfect for my next Parisian dance class! And speaking of dance, have I mentioned that I already have a ballet lesson booked for tomorrow morning?! My dreams of Paris have definitely become a reality!

Of course, no visit to Paris would be complete without experiencing its iconic art scene. This evening, I'm heading to the Musée d'Orsay! They are showcasing a collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces, and I cannot wait! Oh, to immerse myself in the colours and textures of such iconic paintings! I wonder if anyone in history has ever admired an Impressionist masterpiece while wearing a pink tutu... Perhaps I'll be the first!

More to Come...

But don't worry, darlings, my adventures have just begun. There's a whole week of exploring Paris, taking in the beauty of Notre-Dame (such stunning stained glass, imagine it on my new ballet costumes!) perhaps a delightful afternoon at the Palais Garnier (where dreams are born on stage!), indulging in Parisian delicacies like macarons, and indulging in some very fine couture shopping. It wouldn’t be right for me to come to the world's fashion capital and not buy myself a tiny piece of it!

Follow along, dear readers! This week I will share my Paris adventures, my discoveries, and the incredible people I meet, with every post adorned with delightful photographs, of course. Who knows, you may even catch a glimpse of my very pink wardrobe!

Until then,

Lots of love,

Emma xoxo
