Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Diaries - Post #94: A Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights

Bonjour, my lovely tutu-wearers! Emma here, reporting live from the most magical city in the world - Paris! Yes, I finally made it to the City of Lights, and let me tell you, it's even more breathtaking in real life than it is in my wildest dreams.

This week, I traded my usual ballet classes at the Derby Theatre for the delights of Parisian ballet, and I've got to tell you, it was a tutu-tally incredible experience!

Eurostar Dreams:

After a whirlwind week of performing at the Buxton Fringe Festival (I swear, those fairies kept demanding encore after encore!) I set off on a glamorous adventure with the Eurostar, arriving in Paris feeling as chic as a Parisian model. Of course, I travelled in style, complete with my signature pink tutu, a dash of pink blush, and my trusty pink travel bag. What else would a true pink tutu princess travel with, darling?

Ballet, Fashion & Everything Pink!

Landing in Paris felt like stepping onto a fairytale. Cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and, best of all, the world's most beautiful fashion stores. Oh la la!

Saturday in Paris is always a whirlwind, and today was no exception! I started the day with a delicious Parisian breakfast of pastries and strong coffee (because a ballerina needs her energy!), followed by a visit to the Palais Garnier - a magnificent opera house straight out of a fairytale. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the breathtaking chandeliers, the gilded balconies, and the incredible stage. I've seen a few opera houses in my time (my tutu-loving self enjoys a good opera night!), but the Palais Garnier truly stole the show. It's like something out of a grand ballet performance, don't you think?

The ballet at the Palais Garnier tonight was utterly divine, with beautiful costumes, graceful movements, and a story that swept me away. I couldn't resist a little shopping spree afterwards at Galeries Lafayette. It's no secret that Parisian style is impeccable, and let's just say I came back with a new pair of elegant shoes (in a subtle shade of pink, naturally!) and a dazzling scarf. The colours here are so inspiring. Maybe that's what gives the Parisians their air of sophistication - the vibrant colours surrounding them!

Pink Tutu Paris Stroll:

Sunday is my favourite day to explore Paris! The air is alive with the rhythm of the city, and everyone is out and about enjoying their weekend. I began with a stroll through the beautiful Tuileries Gardens, stopping for a delectable Parisian picnic on a sunny bench. I adore picnics, don't you? And a picnic in Paris is like a picnic in paradise.

My highlight of Sunday? The gorgeous Le Marais neighbourhood! It's an absolutely enchanting maze of cobbled streets lined with charming boutiques and cute cafes, offering everything from delicious treats to exquisite designer clothing. Le Marais feels so romantic, don't you agree? Imagine a slow walk in the sun, holding hands with a special someone… the streets are so dreamy here!

In the evening, I enjoyed a traditional French dinner at a charming little restaurant, watching the city lights twinkle while savouring every delicious bite.

Parisian Ballet Dreams:

One of my biggest dreams is to one day dance on the stage of the Palais Garnier. The elegance of this iconic Parisian opera house calls to me like a siren's song. Maybe one day my pink tutu will twirl on that stage. Until then, I’ll be working hard, perfecting my leaps, and making new tutu-loving friends!

And you, dear readers? What would your dream Parisian experience be? Tell me in the comments! I'm always eager to hear from fellow pink tutu fans.

As I type this, my little heart is still beating with Parisian joy. This trip has been so special, so inspiring, and, as always, a beautiful reminder to chase your dreams, whatever they may be! And who knows, maybe I’ll be back soon!

Stay Pink and Dream Big,

Emma xxx

P.S. I know what you're thinking, “What is this Saturday?” Oh darling, I couldn't possibly spoil the surprise. Wait until next week to find out what exciting ballet adventures I'll have in store!
