Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post 118 - Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights

Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday, which means a brand new post from yours truly, Emma, straight from the streets of Paris! This week I took a flying leap across the Channel to the City of Lights, travelling by EuroStar, which, I must say, is truly a dream come true. Just picture me, a vision in pink, of course, gliding through the sleek carriages, admiring the countryside blur while sipping on a cuppa (we English just can't be separated from our hot beverage!).

Now, Paris - oh la la! Where do I even begin? As always, this whirlwind trip has been packed with delightful delights! This time around, my inspiration was the ballet, naturellement. A lovely, sweet ballet company I work with contacted me to come along for a show at the magnificent Opera Garnier. The opulent grandeur of the theatre truly took my breath away, like stepping straight out of a fairytale!

Oh, and the ballet, dear reader! It was exquisite, a swirling and delicate performance of La Sylphide. It felt like an enchanted dream; so graceful, so expressive. There was a little moment where I felt myself holding my breath, so mesmerized was I. Honestly, these magical evenings are why I work so hard with the ballet. They remind me that there are still so many magical things in this world.

But Paris wouldn't be Paris without a dash of shopping! I had to indulge in some retail therapy. You know how it is, a bit of Chanel, a beautiful French scarf - a Parisian gal has to look her best! I treated myself to a darling little tutu dress, pink of course! And trust me, it will be the absolute star of my next performance. After all, you can never have too much pink in your life, and a pink tutu dress? Pure perfection!

Paris also delivered a gorgeous experience with the ballet on Saturday - Ballet on the Street, and not just any street mind you, a delightful Parisian square brimming with families enjoying a sunny afternoon. It was utterly charming. And yes, I was right there, spinning my way into everyone's hearts (and, let's be honest, snapping some incredible photos for the gram). It was all such a lovely treat and made me realise how truly universal ballet is, bringing people together in a moment of joy and grace.

The beauty of Paris isn't just about the architecture and sights. It's also the feeling, the buzz, the atmosphere of the city. And I'm convinced this Parisian charm is simply infectious. You can practically feel it bubbling through you like a bubbly glass of French Champagne. Oh, and did I mention the delicious food? This city knows how to please! I tried an enchanting little patisserie that offered the most incredible macarons - think clouds of pastel perfection that practically melted in your mouth.

My adventures haven't ended yet, dear reader. I'm back at the magnificent Palais Garnier tomorrow for another enchanting performance. The highlight of this whole trip has been watching a young ballerina on the street in her pink tutu, practicing for an upcoming recital, and I could tell her dedication was palpable. I simply had to speak to her and offer a little encouragement and maybe even a touch of sparkle from my pink-tutu wisdom!

There's nothing quite like spending a weekend in Paris! It always leaves me feeling utterly refreshed, re-inspired, and more than a little bit Parisian in spirit. You know, maybe itโ€™s just me but Paris somehow just brings out your inner ballerina, regardless of if you've taken ballet lessons!

Until next week, remember to always wear pink! Especially a pink tutu, and stay curious!

Much Love, Emma
