Pink Tutu Blog: Paris – Post #119
Bonjour, chérie! It’s Saturday, 6th April, 2002, and I’m writing to you from my hotel room in the heart of Paris! My journey began with a whizz on the EuroStar. This is truly the most glamorous way to travel - and my pink tutu didn’t even get squished in the overhead lockers!
This trip is a whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and everything in between, all financed by my performances at the local theatre in Derbyshire. So thank you, audience! You've made this dream come true.
*Today’s adventure was truly a Parisian dream. *Imagine me, twirling down the Champs-Élysées in my signature pink tutu, the sunshine glinting off the Eiffel Tower in the distance. What a sight to behold! (And don’t even get me started on the incredible street fashion! Where else can you find a beret-wearing gentleman with a bright orange handlebar moustache and a pair of killer heels? Only in Paris, darling.)
My morning was all about exploring the charming Parisian cafes. Let’s just say I found the perfect cafe au lait for my pastel pink croissant! But let's be honest, I couldn't resist stopping for a spontaneous photoshoot in front of the most gorgeous patisserie I've ever seen. My pink tutu against that dazzling display of chocolate, macarons and pastries was pure visual delight. Don't forget, my dears, I'll be posting a selection of those snaps on Instagram later!
Speaking of ballet, this evening is going to be absolutely divine. We're going to see "Swan Lake" at the Paris Opera. I am just brimming with excitement! Can you imagine, being in the City of Lights, surrounded by such exquisite dance and beauty? Oh, I am just so thrilled! I’ll share all the details, from the dazzling costumes to the breathtaking choreography, in my next blog post.
Paris has an electric energy, a kind of excitement you don't find anywhere else. I adore wandering the winding streets, admiring the elegant architecture and soaking up the romantic atmosphere. Oh, I almost forgot! You have to see the flowers! Flower stalls bursting with colour everywhere, lining the cobbled streets. I even spotted a couple of rosebushes planted outside a charming little boutique, nestled under the shadow of Notre-Dame Cathedral! My favourite moment of the day has to be the gentle clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages passing by me as I browsed for vintage jewellery in a small, quirky shop in the Latin Quarter.
As the sun sets, the city transforms. And I’m off to get ready for tonight's spectacle at the opera, in a delicate ivory silk dress I bought earlier this afternoon. The colour will be the perfect foil to my bright pink ballet shoes, of course.
My goal, as you all know, is to inspire the world to embrace the power of pink tutus. To me, they represent confidence, freedom and creativity. It's a joy to see my Parisian experience becoming a vision of pink tutu magic! Stay tuned for more adventures next Saturday!
