#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #121: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog Paris! Itā€™s Saturday, 20th April, 2002, and Iā€™m absolutely giddy to be typing this from my quaint little Parisian hotel room. The smell of fresh croissants drifts up from the street below, and the Eiffel Tower twinkles just out of my window. Itā€™s everything I ever dreamed of and more!

This week's adventure saw me boarding the Eurostar from Derby. I practically floated through the train station, my pink tutu swirling like a cloud of candy floss! There were quite a few bewildered looks, but I just winked and twirled. You know, my aim is to get everyone in a pink tutu, one train journey at a time!

Now, arriving in Paris feels like stepping into a storybook. The streets are alive with colours and charm ā€“ think charming boutiques, cobblestone squares and the most fabulous patisseries. And, of course, the Parisian fashion sense is off the charts.

It wasnā€™t long before I discovered a darling little vintage boutique packed with the most incredible dresses, hats and shoes! I snagged a silk scarf adorned with cherry blossoms ā€“ perfect for adding a pop of spring to my tutu, donā€™t you think?

Later, I spent the afternoon wandering around the Louvre. Itā€™s almost surreal to stand before the Mona Lisa ā€“ the most famous painting in the world! Of course, I couldnā€™t resist channeling my inner artist, posing for a picture in my tutu with the Mona Lisa in the background. The result? Absolutely priceless. šŸ˜‰

Now, no trip to Paris would be complete without a ballet performance. Tonight Iā€™m seeing a production of ā€œGiselleā€ at the Palais Garnier, one of the most magnificent opera houses Iā€™ve ever seen. Can you imagine? Ballet, beautiful costumes, dazzling lighting, and a sprinkle of Parisian magic. It's all just too dreamy!

Speaking of dreams, I had a lovely little tĆŖte-Ć -tĆŖte with the resident street artist, a fellow named Henri. He's a darling boy with a genuine passion for art, and his work, which is mostly street ballet scenes, is utterly inspiring. We talked about colour, movement, and the joy of expressing yourself through your craft. And wouldnā€™t you know it, heā€™s planning a special performance in the Jardin du Luxembourg, which is a fairytale of a park, filled with flower gardens and fountains. He even gave me a little dance lesson on the spot! Now thatā€™s what I call Parisian romance.

Speaking of romantic, Paris really is the most enchanting city. You just canā€™t help but fall in love with its old-world charm and modern zest. From the breathtaking views from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the warm smiles of the Parisian locals, everything feels like a love story.

Itā€™s been such an incredible week, and Iā€™ve already started planning my next Paris adventure. My ballet tour across Derbyshire continues next month, which I know will be filled with its own magical moments, but thereā€™s a part of me already daydreaming about those quaint cafes, those magical shops, and the sheer, intoxicating charm of Paris. Until next Saturday, keep dancing and spreading a little pink tutu joy!

Au revoir!

Emma
