Pink Tutu Blog: Paris – Post 123 - 04th May 2002

Bonjour, mes amies! It's your favourite tutu-clad adventurer here, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Paris, the City of Lights! This is post number 123 on my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com, and this week's Parisian escapade was extra special – a perfect mix of pink tulle, stunning shows, and oh-so-chic fashion!

The journey, as always, was half the fun! I took the EuroStar from Derby, which is the absolute best way to travel. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the views, maybe even write a blog post like this one.

As the train whisked me away to Paris, my thoughts were already dancing on the cobblestone streets, imagining all the fashion and the shows that awaited me. Let me tell you, Paris lived up to all my dreams and more!

Day One: Stepping onto the Parisian Stage

Upon arrival at Gare du Nord, I knew this was going to be a magnificent trip. Even the station had a certain je ne sais quoi about it, all romantic arches and elegant ironwork.

But of course, I wouldn't be in Paris without my pink tutu. Just a small, understated one this time, tucked inside a gorgeous little suitcase. I must say, my new pink luggage set made quite the statement!

The hotel, tucked away on a charming little street near the Louvre, was a vision. A perfect blend of classic Parisian elegance and modern comfort – think exposed beams, soft lighting, and plush floral wallpaper. But even in such a beautiful place, my pink tutu had me dreaming of taking to the stage.

A Touch of French Chic

First stop was, of course, the fashion houses. Imagine my joy – rows and rows of stunning dresses in the most amazing colours, silks so delicate, lace so intricate, it felt like walking through a fairy tale. But there's one colour I just can't get enough of – PINK, of course! My wardrobe has already grown quite considerably, with enough fabulous Parisian pink to keep my ballerina spirit dancing for months to come.

Later that evening, I savoured a divine Parisian picnic beneath the Eiffel Tower. I brought a small blanket and sat enjoying the sunset, sipping on some pink lemonade while watching the lights flicker on in the twinkling night. I just love those magical Parisian evenings.

Day Two: An Enchanting Ballet at The Opéra

How does a ballet enthusiast make a weekend trip even better? She books tickets to the Opéra Garnier! This grand opera house is breathtaking in every sense – the ornate details, the majestic architecture, it's a perfect symphony of history and beauty.

The show was a delightful mix of modern and classic choreography – the dancers were graceful and precise, the music soared, and the costumes were exquisite. There was a whole scene where one of the ballerinas wore a pink tutu, so beautiful. Maybe someday I will grace that stage.

A Stroll Through Montmartre

After a delightful afternoon of exploring the Latin Quarter with its cute little shops, and savouring a pastry with my pink tutu (don't worry, I chose the café very carefully – they're quite used to seeing a bit of tulle around here!) – I wandered through the picturesque streets of Montmartre.

The atmosphere was electric. Artists and street performers filled the streets, the air was filled with laughter and music, and the entire district felt like one giant outdoor celebration of art. It felt so lovely, walking under the warm Parisian sun, surrounded by the creative spirit of the city.

Day Three: Farewell to Paris

Leaving Paris was bittersweet, of course. There are always so many more things to see, more places to explore, more pastries to eat! But as I boarded the EuroStar home, I knew I was bringing back a treasure trove of memories and inspiration.

I hope you all enjoyed my little peek into Parisian paradise! Remember, every day can be an adventure in your own pink tutu. Don't be afraid to embrace the pink, embrace the fun, and embrace the spirit of dance that lives within us all. Au revoir!

Until next Saturday, keep dancing!

Emma

P.S. I just thought I’d add a few things to the Paris calendar for this weekend. For those of you who want a peek behind the Parisian curtain!

Parisian Performances:

  • Paris Opéra Ballet - Check out the repertoire, they might even have an all-pink ballet one week!
  • Shakespeare and Company Theatre – Just a gorgeous old building where the love of theatre is as vibrant as ever! They offer so much on offer – everything from classic plays to modern musicals, and of course, all the iconic classics!
  • Folies Bergère - Known for its beautiful theatre productions, glamorous dancers and a little Parisian naughtiness, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a touch of pink to tempt your senses!

A Touch of Pink Inspiration

  • Pink Exhibition at Palais de Tokyo - An annual exhibition showcasing all things pink – fashion, art, and the playful side of life.
  • *Pink-themed Market in Le Marais - * If you love a bargain (or want to indulge in something pink and extravagant!) check out the charming little streets in Le Marais – a perfect way to mingle with Parisians and find some hidden gems.

Bon voyage, mes amies, and happy dancing!

This has been your Pink Tutu Blog – remember to spread the pink!
