Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post 128 – Oh, La La! Paris is Pink! 🩰🇫🇷

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back with another fabulous Paris post! It's Saturday, the 8th of June 2002, and I'm bubbling with excitement, because today is all about exploring the City of Lights… in pink, of course! 😉

This week, I whisked myself away on the Eurostar, that dreamy, efficient way to travel, straight to the heart of Paris. The train journey was a symphony of soft, French accents and the rhythmic clatter of the wheels. And wouldn't you know it, a sweet old lady across the aisle noticed my pink tutu peeking out from under my travel coat. We chatted about ballet, Paris, and, most importantly, the transformative power of a well-chosen tutu!

Fashion Inspiration Everywhere!

The moment I arrived in Gare du Nord, I was hit by a wave of Parisian chic. I couldn't help but feel inspired by the sophisticated yet effortlessly stylish Parisian ladies, their scarves draped just so, their shoes clicking on the cobbled streets. It reminded me: true style comes from within, and Paris truly breathes that spirit!

As soon as I settled into my charming little hotel room (a whimsical haven complete with a balcony overlooking a Parisian square), I knew I had to hit the shops. Of course, no Parisian trip is complete without a little fashion therapy! And what better place to find some treasures than in the iconic Le Marais district?

I danced my way down cobblestone streets lined with vintage boutiques, charming cafes and antique shops. It was like stepping into a movie! Everywhere I looked, there were hints of romance, history and endless possibilities. I discovered a tiny vintage store overflowing with treasures. I snagged a silk scarf printed with delicate flowers, a vintage lace beret and, my pièce de résistance, a little pink beret with a feather. Perfect for channeling that Parisian chic, wouldn't you agree?

A Symphony of Elegance at the Opéra Garnier

Speaking of chic, my heart soared later that evening at the Opéra Garnier, the iconic, gilded, awe-inspiring home of Parisian ballet. Tonight, it was Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, a truly magnificent production, with dancers gliding across the stage with the grace and strength of swans. It’s one of those truly awe-inspiring experiences, one that makes you feel you’re witnessing a piece of history unfold before your very eyes. And to think, I paid for this magical evening by performing with the Derbyshire Ballet last month - proof that your dreams really can come true, darling!

I had the best seats in the house, and as I watched the ballet unfold, my own creative spirit bloomed. I took note of the dancers’ effortless movements, the way their costumes shimmered under the stage lights and the passion radiating from every performance. It’s a reminder that ballet isn't just a dance form, it's an art that can transport you to another world! I found myself wishing I could transport all of Derbyshire, to Paris, so everyone could see the beauty and magic on stage at the Opéra.

Dinner at La Coupole, the Home of Bohemians

The evening couldn’t end without a taste of the Parisian lifestyle! So after the ballet, I strolled through the twinkling streets towards La Coupole. You know how much I adore Parisian bistros - and La Coupole was the epitome of Parisian flair! It's a Parisian institution, with art deco charm, bustling with energy, where legendary artists and poets have dined since its opening in 1927. I even caught a glimpse of a real Parisian beret with a pink feather (similar to mine) – such inspiration!

It's an ideal place for observing Parisian life, where I discovered you can't truly be in Paris without trying an exquisite dessert. I went with a "Tarte Tatin," the epitome of flaky pastry and caramelised fruit. My, was it divine! A delicious reward for a day filled with art, fashion and dancing!

A Night Filled with Parisian Dreams

Tonight, as I drift off to sleep under the Eiffel Tower's twinkling glow, I can't help but feel incredibly lucky to be experiencing the beauty and magic of Paris. This is exactly the kind of adventure I've been dreaming of ever since I started blogging and dreaming of seeing the world. And I have my beautiful pink tutus to thank! After all, they always get me talking, meeting people and creating magical memories.

And don't forget, dear readers, there is a magical pink tutu waiting for you, ready to inspire you and spark your dreams!

A Reminder… The Tutu Effect!

So, my sweet darlings, this week's Parisian adventure was proof that anything is possible if you believe in your dreams and dance with a dash of pink. Let’s make the world a little bit more fabulous, one tutu at a time.

Until next Saturday! Au revoir, darlings!

With pink-tinted kisses,

Emma 💖
