#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #130: Paris, Ooh La La!

Saturday, 22nd June 2002

Bonjour mes amies! This week has been a whirl of twirls and tiaras, all thanks to a trip to the most enchanting city in the world - Paris!

My darling friends, I truly believe that Paris is just as fabulous as they say. It's like a giant ballet performance, all twirling skirts and chic hats. I felt like I was in a movie, floating along the cobbled streets in my new pink tutu and ballerina flats!

Eurostar Elegance

My journey began in Derbyshire, where the rolling hills inspired my dance routine last week. But Paris was calling! My trusty Eurostar took me there in style, all sparkling windows and elegant carriages. It's like a travelling theatre, filled with all kinds of exciting stories. I met a sweet old lady from London, who wore a gorgeous, raspberry pink hat. Naturally, I struck up a conversation and gave her a pink tutu lesson - she loved it! (Now that's what I call a true "pink tutu moment").

Ballet Bliss

Now, I had to see some shows, you see, Paris has some of the most beautiful theatres I've ever seen! Tonight, it's The Nutcracker at the Palais Garnier. It’s a grand, gilded opera house. Imagine, waltzing fairies in swirling gowns on the biggest stage, a dream! It was magical - every note of the music felt like a little skip in my step. My dear friend Charlotte had seen this version a few years ago and said I couldn't leave Paris without it! She was right as always! I did a little twirl outside the theatre for my lovely Instagram followers, naturally.

Pink Tutu Promenade

Yesterday was all about soaking up the Parisian sunshine and Parisian shopping! I found the cutest vintage tutu in the Marais district! I adore this area, filled with cobbled streets and independent boutiques. Imagine, a whole street dedicated to beautiful French fashion. I could happily lose myself for days in this quarter. I think I've even managed to convince one of the shop owners to add some pink tutus to his stock! You've gotta start somewhere. Of course, it wouldn’t be Paris without a stop for a delicious macaron! They’re my new guilty pleasure. They melt in your mouth!

Le Jardin du Luxembourg

I know everyone visits the Eiffel Tower and I’m sure it's beautiful! However, the Jardin du Luxembourg captured my heart today! The sun is shining, it’s a picture of peace! It's my favorite spot in Paris! The scent of flowers and freshly baked bread was divine, just like a dance, every sense heightened! I just had to share my joy with others, so I did a little solo ballet routine on the grassy lawn – I think I might have inspired a few tourists! It’s wonderful seeing the impact that our pink tutu lifestyle is making in every city we travel to! Paris feels magical, and being surrounded by such loveliness makes me want to twirl! I might just put up a poster!

Postcard Perfection

As I write, I'm surrounded by postcards. My room feels like an art gallery of all things beautiful. I found the sweetest card at a local art store of the Notre Dame Cathedral. My other favourite finds? A ballerina postcard - her skirt swirled beautifully - and a picture of the Mona Lisa. Did you know it took da Vinci years to create her masterpiece? How fascinating! She's been keeping me company, watching my graceful practice session. She seems rather fascinated.

Pink Tutu Paris Adventures - Continued

Tomorrow I plan on exploring the Latin Quarter and finding a street performance to watch. Perhaps a ballet-themed show in Montmartre? There are so many wonderful, historical cafes around the city too! Of course, there'll be more shopping... but perhaps a bit of a "rest" today - all this dancing can tire one out! Paris has inspired my choreography this week. We’re starting “La Vie en Rose” in ballet class next week! Stay tuned for more stories from Paris and some new ballet videos! Until then, remember, a pink tutu always adds sparkle to any city!

What’s On This Date: * The Nutcracker at the Palais Garnier (6.30 pm)

What Are You Wearing This Saturday? I am wearing my brand new pale pink tutu from the Marais vintage store, and I'm going for a French chic look! This is, after all, Paris.
