Pink Tutu Paris - Post 134: Bonjour, Paris!

Saturday 2002-07-20

Oh la la! I'm back in Paris, darling! The city of lights, love, and of course, pink tutus! (Let's be real, everything looks better in pink, am I right?) It's like my dream come true – swirling in the romance of Parisian streets, dancing on cobblestones, and, most importantly, indulging in all things fashionable.

I arrived via the Eurostar, which, for you newbies, is the fanciest, fastest, and most stylish way to get to Paris. Imagine a super speedy, chic train carriage, filled with Parisian charm. It's like stepping into a magical, couture-clad world where everyone dresses like a fashion icon – all while traveling at lightning speed. Of course, I was the epitome of pink elegance in my most delicate tulle skirt – even trains need a splash of glamour!

As soon as the train doors opened, Paris enveloped me like a warm embrace. The scent of croissants, the charm of quaint cafes, the clinking of street performers’ guitars – it's a symphony of sensory delights!

This trip, darling, is all about exploring Paris's ballet scene. It's the only city in the world where my pink tutu wouldn't feel out of place on the streets, let alone in the theatre. (Honestly, there's just something about Parisian elegance and the flowing movement of dance that perfectly blend together.) And guess what? It's a dream come true, as tonight, I'm attending a performance at the Paris Opera! (Get ready for the most exquisite fashion review!)

This weekend's itinerary is bursting with balletic fun:

Saturday:

  • Morning: A trip to the grandest and most iconic Parisian market, Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen. (Imagine a gigantic, colourful treasure trove bursting with fashion inspiration.) Who knows what chic vintage finds my eyes will catch! And yes, my sweet tutu will definitely make an appearance in this sartorial adventure.
  • Afternoon: A delicate afternoon tea at Angelina with a dash of champagne (pink, obviously!), to prepare for the magical evening.
  • Evening: The Paris Opera, Ballet du "Swan Lake." This classic ballet will have me pirouetting in my seat, feeling the grace and rhythm of the music in my heart.

Sunday:

  • Morning: An early ballet class with a Parisian ballet academy, feeling the elegance of French ballet as I stretch, pirouette, and learn new techniques. I've heard that Parisian ballet schools are a real treat for ballerinas – oh, how I'm looking forward to soaking up that refined elegance and French charm!
  • Afternoon: A romantic picnic under the Eiffel Tower with a glass of chilled French rosé. After all, Paris is the city of love, right?

    Monday:

  • I'm bidding adieu to this gorgeous city and heading back to Derbyshire. But worry not, darling, I'll have plenty of pictures, Parisian inspiration, and, of course, an unforgettable Paris blog post waiting for you next Saturday.

Speaking of inspiration, did I tell you about the little street theatre troupe I saw outside the Opera? It was like something out of a fairytale! The ballerina was in a shimmering, pink tutu, of course. She danced so gracefully, making me yearn for that moment on stage, swirling and twirling under the Parisian spotlight. (Isn't that what dreams are made of?)

And darling, did you know this is how I make all my travel dreams happen? Every ballet performance I give in Derbyshire, every twirl, every prance… it helps fund my journeys and lets me share my adventures with you. That’s the magic of ballet! (Plus, there's nothing more exhilarating than a curtain call after a stunning performance!)

And it's all in the name of the biggest, most glamorous, most colourful dream of all: to spread the joy and the love of pink tutus to the world! (Maybe even to a tiny French café owner or a street performer or two!)

Stay tuned, lovelies. My adventures in Paris are only just beginning.
