Pink Tutu Paris: Post 160 - Bonjour, Paris! 🇫🇷

Hello my darlings! Emma here, and I'm finally in Paris! I know, I know, you've all been waiting for this update - especially my lovely followers on Twitter, who've been patiently tweeting at me all week asking "Where is Emma? Where's the Pink Tutu in Paris?!" Don't worry, my loves, I haven't been slacking off!

The Pink Tutu landed in Paris with a little bit of a flourish, naturally. You can't travel to the city of lights without a little sparkle, can you? I grabbed my trusty suitcase, packed my favourite pink tutu (this one's sequined, you see, perfect for all that Parisian glamour) and jumped on the EuroStar!

Honestly, there's just something about a high-speed train that fills me with a sense of pure joy. All that elegant speed, zipping through the countryside like a silver bullet - it's so exhilarating. And to think, this amazing feat of engineering is taking me to Paris!

Once I arrived in Gare du Nord, I had to catch my breath (after all, it was a bit of a shock to go from the tranquil green English countryside to the heart of a vibrant city!) but I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. I grabbed a delicious croissant from the cafe across from the station - nothing like starting a Parisian adventure with a bit of buttery goodness, eh? - and it was time to get exploring.

Fashion First: Paris with a Pink Twist

Speaking of exploring, what’s the first thing a girl like me does when she arrives in Paris? Hits the shops, of course! The first stop was Rue de Rivoli. It was a sensory overload! I saw the most beautiful displays in the shop windows. From gorgeous velvet coats to silk scarves with delicate prints, Paris is just overflowing with fashion inspiration.

But for me, it’s not just about the trends, darlings. It's about that Parisian flair. It's about taking inspiration from the classics, adding a personal twist, and most importantly, expressing yourself!

Speaking of twists, you know I had to make my own statement, right? And there's no statement quite like a little bit of pink tutu. So I added a splash of it, quite literally, by finding the perfect, baby pink cashmere sweater to go with my favourite tutu in a dusky rose shade (with a little sparkly detail for good measure). Honestly, I felt like a vision walking down Rue de Rivoli.

It wasn't all about high-fashion shopping, though. There are some incredible antique shops tucked away on side streets, and I just had to get myself a few treasures. A delicate silver necklace that whispered of a bygone era, a small, antique pink enamel box that looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale. Just a little something for my Parisian collection.

The Magic of Ballet: Finding Inspiration Everywhere

As the day wore on, it was time for another Parisian essential - a little culture, of course. I'm in Paris! Where else but the glorious Palais Garnier, the epitome of ballet theatre elegance. And this is where I truly feel like I've stepped back in time. The grandeur, the artistry, the sheer magnificence of it all!

And speaking of magic, the performance tonight was none other than The Nutcracker! I absolutely love seeing this timeless story performed live, the Christmas theme of it just resonates with me - a reminder that it’s still that wonderful time of year even though January is upon us. Plus, the ballet is such a visual treat, with beautiful costumes and sets, and I found myself completely enthralled by the dancers' incredible talent and dedication.

Afterwards, it felt as though I was in a fairytale myself! It’s not a big surprise when it comes to ballet, it truly is my biggest passion. To experience such artistry and sheer talent makes me feel inspired to be the best dancer I can be! And even more so, to inspire others to follow their passions. After all, everyone has something amazing they can contribute, even if it is wearing a pink tutu!

Finding a Piece of Paris in Every Cup of Coffee

Of course, my journey couldn't be complete without a few iconic Parisian treats. A delicious plate of crêpes is a must! Filled with fruit, whipped cream, or Nutella, you really can’t go wrong. And honestly, it’s no surprise, these delights just add to the French magic. I’m already thinking about trying a savoury one tomorrow, maybe with a bit of cheese and ham - what do you think, my darlings?

A quick detour to a Parisian patisserie and, of course, a beautiful coffee break - what is better than watching the world go by, taking in the atmosphere of Paris from a quaint little cafe? Especially while sipping on some warm cafe au lait - and the perfect accompaniment to my Parisian afternoon.

The last thing I had to do today was check out a little bookstore - what can I say? It's a necessity. Finding new inspiration for my next blog post? Yes! But most importantly? A pink book on fashion and ballet, naturally! What a find.

The streets of Paris are brimming with a truly exciting energy. There is always something to discover, be it a quirky shop hidden down a cobbled lane or a street performer entertaining crowds with a passionate tango. You know what they say? The only way to discover a place is by simply taking the time to get lost in it.

That’s all for this week my lovelies, and thank you for joining me on my Paris adventure! Remember, be fearless in your pursuit of your own dreams. Be kind, be happy, and of course, don’t be afraid to embrace the colour pink!

See you next week, my loves.

Your Parisian Pink Tutu,

Emma
