#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 177: A Whirlwind of Pink in the City of Lights!
Bonjour mes chéries! It’s Emma, your resident pink tutu-wearing ballerina, and I'm bursting at the seams to tell you about my whirlwind week in the City of Lights!
After a rather romantic journey on the Eurostar - a journey that definitely included a quick change into my sparkly tutu on the platform at St. Pancras, just for the photo op - I arrived in Paris, the most fashion-forward city in the world. You can't go wrong with Paris; I could have spent days and days in the gorgeous, grand museums. And, of course, the ballet! Swoon
I don't even know where to begin with Paris, darling! So much to see and do. Today, on my latest Parisian adventure, I felt a real Parisian chic in my pink tutu, gliding along the cobbled streets of Montmartre. After grabbing a perfect croissant from a tiny patisserie on a street corner (they really are the best in Paris!), I strolled down the enchanting streets to the top of the hill to take in the gorgeous view from Sacré-Coeur. A real vision of French fairytale charm, the Sacré-Coeur stands proud above the city, and, let me tell you, the panoramic views from up there were utterly breathtaking! Every little, crooked street looked like it had sprung out of a French romance novel. I just wanted to pick a man and get married, get my picture taken on the steps of Sacré-Coeur - it was just like something out of a movie.
I just can't resist the chance to spin my tutu around a little, right?! A Parisian romance with a twist of pink. The perfect mix of chic and fun! But then I reminded myself why I had really come to Paris. I must confess I came here mainly for the fashion, but for once, ballet came before shopping. After a quick peek inside one of the stunning French boudoirs (let's be honest, every shop here feels like one), I headed to the iconic Palais Garnier - the Opera House itself!
Now, you might be thinking: how does one fit ballet into the busy day of a pink tutu-wearing blogger? You know, all those important Paris errands, like picking out the perfect outfit from the latest collection at Chanel or wandering through the cobblestone streets stopping at each and every cute café… well, I'll tell you. Ballet is always at the forefront! I may be a little biased, but for me, the Opera Garnier is a real vision! So, what is an aspiring ballerina, a real romantic who likes pink and loves Parisian chic to do? The answer is simple: a visit to the Garnier is simply a must. This ballet palace truly deserves its name, with its grandeur and elegance, and not to mention its fabulous ballet! I managed to secure myself some gorgeous seats - first balcony, which gave me an absolutely fantastic view of the whole show, and then of course, I bought myself the program and sat back with a glass of red and the other ballet buffs. I know you know how it is! And boy oh boy, did the dancers put on a good show. The Giselle is a ballet classic. It was pure magical story-telling.
But let's be real - when you're in a city as stylish as Paris, it's simply rude not to spend a few hours exploring the haute couture scene. Honestly, just taking in the Parisian atmosphere, that’s all part of the charm. I, of course, had to grab a few bits and bobs! So, with a tutu in hand (and not just any tutu, oh no - a chic black Parisian ballerina-style number), I felt like a real Parisian princess.
I know what you're thinking. It can't always be pink. Sometimes even I need to branch out and wear a black tutu. I don’t want to disappoint, my lovely readers, but that doesn't mean I've lost the colour! Paris was alive with its bright pastel palette - soft blues, pinks, and greens, creating the prettiest blend of colours - even better with the sunshine shining so bright. Just how I like it. A blend of traditional French romance and some glitzy 21st-century fashion thrown in, as well as all that beautiful classical French art, like what I saw at the Louvre.
The Louvre - another absolute must for every Parisian princess! Let's be honest - it's impossible to go to Paris and not see Mona Lisa - she's quite famous. You could just stare at her smile and ponder it all day long.
Well, that is just a sneak peek at my weekend in Paris, mes amies! I still haven't mentioned my Parisian picnics, my adventures with my ballet slippers in hand, my evening picnics in the garden with the lights twinkling and champagne and strawberries (a perfect blend of chic, girly and sophisticated for me!), or the hours spent in art museums, just dreaming of the perfect pink tutu outfit for my next Parisian adventure. But you know I have to leave you with a few exciting surprises - and maybe, just maybe, even a little glimpse of a few pink tutu tips for your next romantic Paris getaway. After all, everyone knows how much I love a romantic adventure with my trusty, pink tutu! I'll be back with another blog post next week on www.pink-tutu.com. I hope to see you there!
A bientôt,
Emma, Your very own pink tutu-wearing, ballerina-slash-blogger
