Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: A Day in the City of Lights (Post #180)

Bonjour, darlings! It’s Emma here, back from another whirlwind week, this time in the magical city of Paris! Oh, how I love this place - the charming cafes, the cobbled streets, the art, the food, the fashion... It's like a dream, especially for a girl who lives in a pink tutu!

This week, I’m taking you on a whirlwind journey through the heart of Paris, starting with my exciting journey on the EuroStar! For the fashion-forward traveller, the EuroStar is a fabulous experience - the plush seats, the sparkling champagne, the smooth ride… I even wore my most glamorous tutu for the trip (naturally, it was a beautiful shade of blush pink!).

Reaching Gare du Nord was like stepping into a scene from a film. There was a certain Parisian je ne sais quoi about the air, and of course, I was already spotting all the chic Parisians going about their day in beautiful clothes, which instantly got my fashion radar going.

First things first - after all that travel, I needed to replenish my energy and what better way to do that than with a classic French cafe experience? My mission: a table with a view of the iconic Sacré-Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, and a plate of the most delectable croissants! They were so flakey, so buttery, and so utterly divine. They were definitely my ‘must-have’ from Paris, especially with my pink tutu! After that delicious start to my day, I set out to explore the streets of Montmartre - such a charming district full of Parisian art, history and culture, as well as beautiful little shops, just perfect for a pink tutu-loving blogger like myself!

After a delightful morning spent shopping for some chic Parisian finds, including the cutest little hat that totally compliments my pink tutu, I found myself near the Moulin Rouge, where I just HAD to catch a show. The vibrant colours, the glittery costumes, the sassy can-can... it was a fabulous experience! Even the dancers themselves seemed to enjoy my tutu (don’t worry, I toned down the pink a little bit – a classic Parisian vibe!) and even allowed me to join them in a quick can-can (only for a few seconds, naturally). They weren’t too surprised at the sight of a pink tutu; the performers here in Paris are pretty used to seeing something unexpected. I wonder how they would react to my pink-tutu wearing friends joining me next time?!

The evening, my loves, was something special. I discovered the most enchanting little ballet theatre, just off the Champs-Élysées. Imagine, this charming theatre filled with lovely Parisian audiences and of course, the most fabulous ballet performance I’d ever seen. The ballerinas wore dazzling tutus, with costumes so magnificent, and even the stage itself was adorned in the most romantic colours of blush and champagne pink. This beautiful theatre is definitely a place that deserves a dedicated post (and possibly even a photoshoot with my pink tutu in tow!) so stay tuned! The show took my breath away; I was transported to another world by the beautiful choreography, the powerful expressions of the dancers and of course, their impeccable movements. Seeing such pure, elegant, graceful talent always gives me the most lovely feeling, even when wearing my pink tutu.

By now, you know how much I adore experiencing the Parisian arts scene, from theatre performances to street art to the majestic architecture. But Paris is also an incredible shopping haven for those of us with a flair for fashion. From the high-end boutiques along Avenue des Champs-Élysées to the charming little shops hidden in the cobbled alleyways, there's truly something for every taste and budget. I, of course, was on the lookout for the most dazzling, pinkest accessories and pieces to complete my pink-tutu ensembles. Let’s just say, my suitcase was looking awfully full!

As I sip my morning coffee here at my quaint little Parisian hotel room, surrounded by all the lovely purchases from yesterday (you'll have to wait for those sneak peeks), I’m already dreaming of what today holds. A walk along the Seine River with my beloved baguette, perhaps some more sightseeing in the trendy Le Marais district... the possibilities in Paris, as they always are, are endless, and I'm ready to embrace it all, tutu and all!

See you next Saturday, my darlings, for another pink-tutu-filled Parisian adventure! Remember, the key is to find what you love, to live with joy, to find your own pink tutu moment, and above all, to always embrace your unique style. Until then, Au revoir, darling!

Emma, signing off!
