Pink Tutu Blog - Paris! #195

Bonjour, mes amis! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu blogger, and today's date is Saturday, 20th September, 2003 - quelle joie! Today, I'm writing to you from Paris, the city of love, lights and…well, pink tutus! This week has been absolutely magical - so sit back, grab a cuppa and get ready for another dose of Parisian pink-tinted perfection!

It all started back in Derbyshire, England. You know how much I love a good train journey, so, naturally, the EuroStar was my chosen steed for this fabulous French adventure. It felt like something straight out of a fairytale! Imagine: whizzing through the countryside in my favourite pink tutu and a fluffy white cardigan, feeling the breeze through my hair, and catching glimpses of picturesque fields and charming villages flashing by - it was positively divine!

Arriving in Paris was just like stepping onto a movie set. The streets bustled with energy, everyone looked so chic, and even the pigeons seemed to have a bit more flair. As we left the Gare du Nord, I felt a familiar flutter in my stomach - this is where I felt truly alive!

The first thing on my Parisian agenda was a ballet performance, naturally! I headed straight for the Opéra Garnier - what a masterpiece! This building is just stunning, with its ornate décor, grand staircase, and captivating aura. The performance itself was a whirlwind of emotion, featuring the exquisite dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, graceful and powerful, telling stories without a single word. It left me spellbound.

And what would a Parisian escapade be without a spot of shopping? The Champs-Élysées! It's a veritable fashion playground! I confess, I had a bit of a spending spree, treating myself to a gorgeous pair of cherry-red patent shoes and a fuchsia pink beret – perfect for a touch of Parisian flair, don't you think? I know, I know, I have a bit of a pink obsession! But seriously, who can resist a splash of vibrant colour when surrounded by such magnificent architecture and breathtaking scenery?

After my retail therapy, I strolled along the Seine, feeling the Parisian night air gently caress my skin. The lights twinkled across the water, creating a romantic atmosphere that made me dream of pink tutu twirls under the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower itself was majestic, towering over the city like a queen – what a fantastic landmark. I couldn't resist a cheeky photo with it in the background, sporting my new beret of course! I even tried the world famous Nutella crepe, just one of many delights I tried this trip. Nutella Crepe - definitely my recommendation, I shall try it again soon!

But here’s the best bit! While I was walking near the tower, I happened to spot a group of people rehearsing for a street performance. They were dressed in elaborate costumes – dancers, singers, even some with oversized puppets! They had such an energy about them, and I couldn't resist joining in for a quick dance.

And yes! - You guessed it - I was twirling in my favourite pink tutu! Everyone started clapping along, and I swear I could feel the spirit of Paris swirling around me. There is something truly special about this city that inspires you to express yourself with passion and joy!

The days have been packed full of enchanting experiences, like wandering through the Louvre museum and marveling at masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and so many more. This was such a highlight of the trip, the architecture and history truly inspires. The Louvre* really is a magnificent building inside and out.

Each morning begins with a freshly baked croissant and a strong espresso, savoring every bite while watching the Parisian streets come alive. And of course, no Parisian adventure would be complete without indulging in a delicious meal at a quaint café while watching the world go by.

The whole week has been an explosion of culture, creativity, and culinary delights. I’ve learned about history, fallen in love with architecture, and discovered new fashion treasures. Most importantly, I've had a chance to reflect on what brings me true joy: the beauty of expression and the power of wearing a pink tutu, because what makes us different makes us unique!

And remember, every Saturday I’ll be sharing more of my Paris adventures here on www.pink-tutu.com, so come back next week for another dose of Pink Tutu Paris fun!

Until next time,

Emma - Your Pink Tutu Blogger!
