Pink Tutu Paris: Post No. 196 - Ooh La La!

Bonjour mes amis!

The Eiffel Tower glistens in the afternoon sun, its wrought iron arms reaching up like a welcoming embrace. Oh Paris, how I adore you! This week I’ve been transported by the magic of the EuroStar to this enchanting city, my very own Parisian adventure.

It’s hard to believe it’s been another week, another post in my little Pink Tutu world. My ballet performances keep me hopping - quite literally! – and that’s how I fund all my fabulous escapades. And today, it's a Parisian escape like no other!

The train ride over was delightful, of course! I had to wear my pink and ivory polka-dot dress with matching gloves, which was the perfect outfit for a touch of Parisian chic. A splash of colour amidst all the muted tones. My lucky pink tutu was tucked away in my little cabin suitcase, waiting to twirl into action.

Now, before we delve into my whirlwind adventures, a little catch-up! This Saturday, September 27th, happens to be…drumroll, please…International Day of Deafness! How lovely to celebrate this beautiful community who communicate and create in a world all their own! I wonder what sort of spectacular ballets and street performances we might see from these talented artists. Hmmm…

I just love how Parisian style and culture seem to blend seamlessly with their events and celebrations!

So, where have my little pink-tutu feet been taking me?

A Symphony of Shoes at Printemps!

Oh, darling, you haven’t lived until you’ve witnessed the glorious footwear wonderland at Printemps! The shoe department is pure paradise for any girl who adores a good pair of pumps. And by good, I mean dazzlingly fabulous, of course!

I practically drooled over pearl-encrusted flats that looked like they were ready to take centre stage at a royal ball! Imagine, my little Pink Tutu stepping onto that red carpet with a graceful flourish. I think I even heard a little fanfare!

Sizzling Sounds and Fashion on the Seine!

Yesterday evening was a sight to behold! We stumbled upon this incredible live music and fashion show right by the Seine River. It was like something straight out of a magazine! Imagine the stunning sunset lighting up the River Seine as these chic models sashayed down the floating stage!

You know, this really was the perfect setting for my little Pink Tutu show! I could practically picture it; I, my lovely Pink Tutu, twirling amidst the twinkling Parisian lights. Oh, the magic of a tutu-licious performance on the Seine!

And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without…A Delicious Delightful Afternoon Tea!

Honestly, even a ballerina with a sweet tooth could get a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of treats available! From dainty pastries to beautifully crafted sandwiches and the most adorable petit fours, it was like a sugarplum dream!

I’ll admit, I couldn’t resist indulging in a delicious cuppa, accompanied by a slice of their fabulous Victoria sponge cake. (What’s a Derbyshire girl to do?) I was on a bit of a sugar rush afterward but hey! It was the perfect afternoon to treat myself.

Speaking of treats…

Enchanting Evening at The Folies Bergère!

Let's talk about Folies Bergère. Oh, darling, this is what true Paris theatre is all about! This historic theatre was absolutely electric with the energy of an exhilarating performance.

From a stunning ballet opening (imagine, feathers and glittery tutus, so fitting, right?), to awe-inspiring acrobatics and comedic brilliance - I felt like I was truly in the heart of Parisian culture.

As I walked back through the glittering city streets towards my cozy Parisian hotel, the gentle hum of the evening air felt so vibrant, alive, and truly, wonderfully, Parisian! It was another fantastic evening to add to my ever-growing memory book.

This is why I come to Paris! For the magic and the enchantment! The vibrant spirit and the cultural abundance that embraces you like a warm hug.

This little pink tutu traveller has to be off to another whirlwind of adventure. So until next week, darlings!

Stay twirly and happy, my lovelies!

XOXO,

Emma
