Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #200 – A Whirlwind Saturday in the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes chéries! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another Parisian adventure. As the clock strikes noon on this glorious Saturday, the 25th of October, 2003, I'm already halfway through a whirlwind of Parisian delights! And oh my, what a whirlwind it has been. The City of Lights truly lived up to its name, and let me tell you, it's been nothing short of magical.

My Parisian escapade started with a journey that's almost as enchanting as the destination itself. I hopped onto the Eurostar, feeling like a fairytale princess escaping to a grand ball, with a brand new, pink polka dot tutu specially designed for this trip, naturally. The journey, just like the tutus, was nothing short of delightful! I met a lovely chap named Pierre who told me the most interesting stories about French fashion history, all while I was carefully sipping a strawberry milkshake and watching the scenery blur by. It really felt like stepping into a vintage French movie, only with a little more pink.

And now, here I am, in the heart of Paris. It’s like stepping into a dream - cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and the air itself is abuzz with a charming kind of Parisian magic!

First Stop - Palais Garnier - Oh My!

A ballerina's day in Paris isn't complete without a ballet fix! I simply had to pay homage to the grand Palais Garnier Opera House. The architecture is incredible – like a spectacular cake just for a royal ball. I stood in awe beneath the giant chandeliers, each sparkling like a million tiny stars. Every corner was overflowing with beauty. The most dazzling part, for me? The breathtaking murals lining the grand staircase - pure magic!

But let’s not forget the reason for this magnificent structure! This is a house built for ballet. This is a place where dreams take flight. So, imagine my delight when I discovered there was a show tonight! And not just any show - Swan Lake. A truly beautiful and graceful piece. It’s impossible not to be mesmerised. Tonight I’m taking in a performance in my newest creation: a stunning, pearl white, feather-light tutu designed by myself, just for this special occasion!

Lunch in Style - A Parisian Picnic by the Seine

The hunger pangs set in, and of course, it had to be a Parisian lunch! A picnic on the Seine, beside the river where all those charming river boats glide by, was a must! I grabbed a beautiful vintage basket and headed to the local boulangerie for fresh baguette, brie, and some adorable, little strawberry tarts for dessert! The only way to enhance the perfect Parisian lunch is to throw on my sparkly pink tulle scarf. What else could I do, but add a touch of pink and twirl, right?!

A Spot of Retail Therapy: Fashion Fix

And then it was time for the obligatory fashion therapy, because Paris is truly the mecca of beautiful fashion. My current obsession is this little boutique filled with quirky vintage treasures, and guess what? They had the most exquisite pink dress you've ever seen. I can't resist a new pink outfit for a new city, right? My suitcase will definitely be happy!

Pink Tutu Dream – Every Girl Deserves a Twirl

Walking down the charming Champs-Élysées tonight, it made me think about what makes a day magical in Paris. I’d say it's the mix of beautiful sights, delicious treats, and moments that feel like you’ve stepped straight out of a movie. But honestly? A truly magical moment for me would be to see every single girl in Paris, and indeed all over the world, donning a beautiful, playful tutu. Every girl deserves a twirl, doesn’t she?

Paris - Always Enchanting, Always Magical.

The night’s just getting started. Later, a show of cabaret to end the night on a glamorous note. And, maybe I’ll get to try a few of the traditional Parisian sweets - like a crêpe, a macaron, or a delicious pain au chocolat! Whatever adventure the Parisian night throws my way, I’m ready, tutu-ready, in fact!

I hope you've enjoyed this whirlwind of Parisian charm, from my pink tutu-filled adventures. Come back next Saturday, for more adventures and insights into the Parisian fashion world. Until then, my darlings, keep dreaming big, keep twirling, and stay pink!

Bisous from Paris!
