#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 199 - Parisian Dreams and a Whirl of Pink!

Bonjour mes chéries!

The Eurostar hurtled through the countryside, a blur of green and grey, but my thoughts were consumed by the most fabulous pink vision: Paris. I was on my way to the City of Lights, my trusty pink tutu packed securely in my travel bag, ready to twirl through the streets and embrace all things chic! As always, a weekend in Paris is about finding beauty in the everyday, celebrating the power of pink and twirling my way through all the fabulousness that this incredible city offers.

This trip was particularly special. I'd snagged some incredible tickets to see the Paris Opera Ballet perform "Giselle" - an absolute dream for a ballet fanatic like me! Imagine - seeing the world's greatest dancers in one of the most iconic theatres in the world, dressed in costumes that wouldn't look out of place in a fairytale. I was literally giddy with anticipation, and my pink tulle tutu felt extra floaty today, knowing that the very air of Paris itself was charged with artistic energy.

Speaking of artistic energy, how about "Moulin Rouge"! A bit of a cliche I know, but I have to admit, it still holds that magic even after a few decades! I've seen the film (multiple times, of course) and this was my chance to finally experience it for myself. Imagine, darling, cabaret dancers twirling in their plumes and feathers, glittering costumes sparkling under the stage lights, the atmosphere alive with excitement and Parisian glamour! It's everything you think it'd be and more! I even caught myself trying out a few Moulin Rouge-inspired twirls myself, feeling a bit of that seductive spirit!

But the real beauty of Paris is often found not in the grand theatres and flashy shows, but in the quieter corners of this city.

Walking through the Tuileries Gardens with the golden afternoon sun on my face, surrounded by giggling children, was absolute magic. I spent the afternoon trying out some of my favourite French patisseries (chocolate eclairs are a must! ), watching a group of artists sketch, and enjoying the playful bursts of colour from the flower beds. It's no wonder Paris is called the City of Love - there's a certain sweetness in the air that makes you want to waltz with the world!

As you all know, a visit to Paris isn't complete without indulging in a bit of retail therapy. And the vintage shops on the Left Bank didn't disappoint! Imagine racks upon racks of glamorous vintage clothes, hidden gems from bygone eras! I found the most darling pink polka-dot dress - a perfect mix of vintage charm and contemporary style. It’s an absolute gem for the ballerina who knows her fashion history.

And let's talk about Parisian style! Walking through the city streets, I was practically hypnotised by the fashionable ladies, strutting with an effortless chic that left me completely smitten. It’s no wonder Parisian style is world famous - that classic French chic, with a touch of playful modernity. Of course, I couldn’t help but experiment with my own little Parisian flair. I'd wear my trusty pink tutu over a flowy vintage dress, pair it with a beret and chic red lipstick. My personal brand of Parisienne flair, if you will. It all went swimmingly, darlings.

And finally, because no trip to Paris would be complete without some romance, I decided to make a detour to Montmartre. That iconic hill overlooking the city with the famous Sacré-Cœur basilica – it’s the epitome of Parisian romance! Wandering through the charming, narrow streets, each with its own artistic quirks, its cafes overflowing with laughter, I found myself lost in the heart of artistic beauty.

Every moment of my Parisian adventure was infused with the joy of exploration, a delightful mix of ballet shows, shopping escapades, and charming discoveries. And of course, all made extra magical with the twirling delight of a pink tutu! As I boarded the Eurostar home, the glow of Paris lingered within me. The memories of this fabulous adventure, and the dream of pink tutu fuelled future journeys, are what keeps me going!

As ever, don't forget to join me next week for more Parisian adventures, my loves! Stay tuned for Post 200 - The Grand Prix - A Celebration of Style & Sport! And remember, every day can be a pink tutu day!

Until then,
