Bonjour from Paris, my darlings! This week, the Eurostar whisked me away to the City of Lights, and oh, my, it's just as magical as everyone says! As you all know, I'm a firm believer that life is too short for boring clothes, and what better way to embrace the romance of Paris than with a brand new, fluffy pink tutu? It’s practically an unwritten rule of Parisian etiquette, wouldn't you say?
It's been an absolute whirlwind since I arrived, filled with ballet shows, boutique shopping, and enough pastries to satisfy a whole ballet troupe! The perfect combination for any tutu-wearing ballerina, I'd say.
Let's dive into the highlights of my Parisian adventure, shall we?
The Eiffel Tower - A Tutu-Worthy View:
Nothing beats the feeling of gazing out over the cityscape from the top of the Eiffel Tower. The whole of Paris stretching out beneath you, bathed in the warm glow of the afternoon sun. And of course, I had to wear my brightest pink tutu for the occasion! It simply added to the whole fairytale feeling, and, don’t even get me started on the photos! The perfect shot for the Instagram feed!
The Ballet Theatre - An Ode to Dance:
Last night was the most magical night of the entire trip, we went to see the Parisian Ballet Theatre - my absolute favourite, of course! The energy in the theatre was electric! Every twist, every leap, every turn, it all flowed seamlessly with the beautiful music and sets. It was a feast for the eyes and soul.
I actually got to meet one of the dancers afterwards – can you believe it? It was so amazing to hear about her journey as a dancer, and her passion was infectious. Her story really highlighted why I love my life so much - there's just nothing more fulfilling than living your dream, in whatever form that takes. Of course, she had to admire my pink tutu! She loved it!
Parisian Fashion & Parisian Eats:
A girl can never have too many tutu-perfect outfits, and I have to say, the boutiques of Paris have blown me away! From vintage lace to the latest trends, there's something to make any ballerina's heart beat a little faster. I spent the afternoon happily browsing and indulging in a bit of retail therapy - finding some utterly gorgeous vintage brooches that matched my latest pink tutu perfectly! I can’t wait to style it with it when I get back to Derbyshire!
And when it comes to food, Paris is an absolute paradise for foodies! From fresh croissants with a café au lait, to melt-in-your-mouth macarons, and, let’s be honest, every meal needs a little French patisserie at the end! Let's just say I may be bringing back a few extra kilos to England with me, but hey! it was all worth it, right?
Making Memories in Pink
My time in Paris has been everything I imagined, and more. There's just something about the Parisian atmosphere, it makes you feel like you're stepping into a timeless movie! The city is full of romantic energy, charming alleyways, beautiful cafes and cobblestone streets just begging to be explored. Of course, the main purpose of my visit was to inspire my lovely readers to embrace their own unique styles and show their true selves. So what better way to do that than with a dash of pink and a sprinkle of tutu magic?
As the weekend draws to a close, I'm leaving with a suitcase full of Parisian treasures and memories, inspired and feeling a little bit Parisian myself, and maybe a bit of pink rubbed off on me. Now, if only I could fit my entire tutu collection in my suitcase - imagine the Parisian style icons I'd turn heads with!
