Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #242 - Bonjour Paris!

Bonjour, mon chérie! This is Emma from Derbyshire, your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger, and I’m back again, fresh from a whirlwind EuroStar trip, ready to spill all the secrets of my Parisian adventures. Today's blog post is brimming with pink, tutus, and that fabulous Parisian flair, all enjoyed whilst being the absolute epitome of ‘je ne sais quoi’.

As you all know, this week I've traded my usual countryside ballet shoes for a pair of chic flats, perfect for exploring the cobbled streets of Paris. The Eurostar was divine, an absolute treat after the endless miles I’ve driven through the English countryside to fund my Parisian escapade! Yes, you heard right, ballet performances across Derbyshire are paying for my fabulous Parisian fashion frenzy – nothing beats a spot of tutu-inspired travel!

Saturday, 14 August - Well, where to start? Paris! The city of love! Today started like a dream, and by dream, I mean breakfast in bed in my lovely little boutique hotel near the Seine – oh how I love a good French breakfast! This little hotel, just for the ladies, is a real hidden gem, tucked away in the Latin Quarter with gorgeous rooms, complete with floral prints and vintage Parisian flair, plus a balcony overlooking the cobbled courtyard! It's everything I dreamed of – even the fluffy white towels match my pink fluffy slippers!

After indulging in pain au chocolat and delicious cafe au lait, I was all set for my Parisian adventure. Today, Paris felt more than just a city, more than a love story – it was my personal playground!

This being Paris, a day could not go by without a stop for some delightful shopping! Now, let’s be honest, I’ve never really met a Parisian store I didn’t adore. From the quintessential vintage stores on the Rue de Seine, overflowing with beautiful dresses and vintage handbags to the flagship Galeries Lafayette, a veritable heaven for all things haute couture – it was fashion nirvana!

I couldn’t resist snagging a gorgeous pale pink cashmere scarf, its soft texture a real delight against my delicate skin. And a darling little pink tutu, yes you read right, a tiny little pink tutu – a reminder that pink is the most magical colour on this earth, especially when adorning the perfect Parisian ensemble!

And of course, how can I write a Parisian blog post without mentioning a visit to the Louvre?! After all, I wouldn’t be a real Parisian tourist unless I at least pretended to appreciate Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, with her mysteriously captivating gaze! (However, the real draw for me was a beautiful painting depicting ballet dancers en pointe. Such grace and fluidity!)

Later this afternoon, I was graced by a wonderful opportunity - a captivating street ballet performance. The vibrant hues of the street art against the backdrop of a charming café created an incredible ambiance! Watching those talented dancers spin, leap, and flow – ah, the sheer artistry! I truly wish everyone could experience that joy of being surrounded by such magic!

Tonight, after a decadent dinner at a charming little bistro on the Left Bank, my adventure culminated at the famous Opera Garnier – a ballet performance, naturally! Watching the graceful movements of the dancers in their swirling tutus against the majestic grandeur of the Garnier was an exquisite experience, one I’ll never forget.

Oh, darling readers, let’s be honest, a ballet performance isn’t complete without a stylish outfit, and I made sure to show off my Paris flair! I went for a classic black-and-white look – a little black dress (because every woman needs a classic black dress in her life!), black heels and a bold touch of pink, a large, vintage, satin ribbon, woven delicately into a pink-hued braid that framed my face.

With a delicate sprinkling of shimmery pink eye shadow, my look was complete – it just screamed 'Emma the Ballet Ballerina!' and of course, I couldn’t forget to accessorise with a simple black straw hat. Yes, my dear readers, every woman needs a straw hat – trust me. The Parisian sun kissed my cheek, the music swirled through the air, and I felt myself drifting into that magical world that is the ballet. Every twirl, every grand jeté, was like a brushstroke of beauty on a masterpiece canvas, creating an exquisite picture of elegance and poise.

So here I am, in Paris, in a charming little Parisian cafe, enjoying a hot chocolate and reminiscing over this absolutely glorious day, hoping this Parisian adventure will forever leave its mark on my memory. The Seine flows beside me, carrying all of Paris’ dreams and stories to the sea, a romantic melody swirling in my ears – life is indeed beautiful, especially when one’s life is filled with tutus, pink, and the vibrant spirit of a ballerina.

I must say au revoir now, as I have a feeling tomorrow will bring an exciting day of more Paris exploration, and of course, I'll be sharing every Parisian secret, every Parisian whisper on my blog next Saturday! Until then, be sure to visit my website, www.pink-tutu.com for all my pink adventures and updates! Until then, embrace the pink, cherish every moment, and maybe, just maybe, throw on a tutu! Remember – if you’re lucky enough to wear pink and dance to the beat of your own heart, the world will certainly be a more beautiful place.
