Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post 244 - 28th August 2004

Bonjour mes chéries!

It's Emma here, and I'm back with a new post straight from the City of Lights! I can hardly contain my excitement as I write this, the thrill of Paris is coursing through my veins like a pirouette gone wild! This weekend has been nothing short of spectacular - I can't wait to share it all with you!

For those who are new to the Pink Tutu world, let me tell you, I live for Parisian elegance and style! A dash of chic, a sprinkle of whimsy, a big, pink, twirly, tutu-fied heart... that's what I'm all about! My love for dance, my love for fashion, my love for travelling (especially by train, or even better - by horse! ) all find their perfect match in this beautiful city.

A Eurostar Dream

I embarked on my Parisian adventure this morning on a smooth, sleek, and perfectly pink Eurostar (imagine the sheer delight!). The journey felt like a dream, watching the rolling hills of Kent and the Channel Tunnel disappear in a flurry of speed and anticipation. I think the Eurostar may be the most glamorous train in the world!

Tutu Chic at the Hôtel Plaza Athénéé

Arriving at Gare du Nord felt like stepping onto the stage of a glamorous ballet. With a flourish of my pink tulle skirt, I waltzed out of the station and hailed a taxi, eager to get to my luxurious lodgings at the iconic Hôtel Plaza Athénéé!

This is truly a place to dream! My room, filled with blush hues and delicate accents, reminded me of a ballet studio fit for a prima ballerina. As I unpacked my tutu suitcase (because every true Pink Tutu girl needs one!) the windows revealed breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the afternoon sun. I can't wait to explore its majesty later!

Fashionably Française at Galeries Lafayette

After settling in, I set out on my first Parisian quest - to find the perfect pink dress for tonight's theatre performance! The iconic Galeries Lafayette department store is a mecca for style and elegance!

Imagine, if you will, a grand glass dome bathed in natural light, showcasing cascading walls of luxury designer goods and breathtaking window displays. I felt like Alice in Wonderland, surrounded by beautiful clothes, jewellery, and shoes galore! My mission, of course, was to find the most vibrant, playful, pink dress I could find! Let's just say I walked out feeling like a Parisienne princess in a perfectly fitted, pink masterpiece!

A Ballet Night to Remember at Palais Garnier

The grand Palais Garnier opera house is one of the most magnificent buildings I've ever seen! It was just the place for tonight's dazzling ballet. I have to say, Paris definitely has a ballet bug! This magnificent, majestic building - all gilded details and soaring archways, transported me to a bygone era.

And the performance itself... divine! The choreography was ethereal, the music stirring my soul, and the costumes so lavish and breathtaking! It's not everyday you get to see some of the world's greatest dancers move with such grace and artistry right in front of your eyes. And let me tell you, my pink dress did wonders for complementing the pink accents in the set! It was a perfect pairing, as if I had been born for it.

Tomorrow's Adventures

My journey through the pink paradise that is Paris is only just beginning. Tomorrow, I'm heading to the beautiful Musée Rodin, planning to spend some time lost in the world of sculpture. Later, I'll be taking a stroll along the Champs-Élysées and grabbing a delicious Parisian breakfast, topped with, of course, a large pink macaron (you can't resist!)!

I promise to share all of it with you in next week's post! So, keep your tutus ready, my lovelies! And don't forget, every day can be a ballet!

Bisous!

Emma x
