Pink Tutu Blog: Paris Post #256 - Bonjour, Darling!

Oh la la, my dearest tutu-wearing lovelies! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind weekend in the City of Lights, Paris! As you know, a pink tutu takes me everywhere, and this week, I had the most divine adventure exploring the French capital, courtesy of the wonderful EuroStar (a definite must for any tutu traveller - fast, efficient, and oh so chic!)

So grab your macarons, settle into a comfy armchair (ideally in your pink tutu, of course!), and let's take a little trip down Parisian boulevards…

Friday – Arrival and Ballet Bliss!

The EuroStar zipped me to Paris in a flash, leaving me utterly giddy with excitement. I dashed out of Gare du Nord, my pink tulle billowing behind me, like a sugar-spun ballet dancer emerging from a box. The air buzzed with the romance of the city, the Eiffel Tower winking at me from afar.

After settling into my little Parisian nest – a charming, pink-tinged hotel room complete with a balcony overlooking the Seine - I headed to the Opéra Garnier. I must confess, dear readers, this was the high point of my trip, an incredible evening of Tchaikovsky’s "Swan Lake" at the Palais Garnier.

I was mesmerized by the breathtaking costumes and choreography, the music transporting me to a world of magic and grace. The grand opera house itself was pure magic – with glittering chandeliers and intricate carvings – oh my! The perfect start to my Paris adventure.

Saturday - Shopping Spree & Sweet Indulgences

Waking up in Paris with sunshine streaming through my window felt like a dream. It was a day for exploring the magic of Parisian fashion! I must confess, I had an afternoon that every pink tutu-loving girl would dream of: a leisurely stroll down the Champs-Élysées.

Imagine this: the air crisp and fresh, Parisian elegance in every boutique window, the smell of freshly-baked bread wafting from every patisserie. I’m sure you’re picturing it all perfectly in your minds.

But nothing could have prepared me for the discovery that made my heart sing - a vintage shop on Rue Saint-Honoré. Think Audrey Hepburn meets a whimsical ballerina: it had racks of the most enchanting tulle dresses, all colours of the rainbow. It took a lot of self-control not to buy everything, but I managed to snag a stunning pastel blue dress that would make a perfect tutu-tastic outfit!

As evening approached, the city seemed to twinkle even brighter. The lights reflected on the Seine, creating an enchanting view. After enjoying an enchanting picnic overlooking the river with delicious cheese, fresh bread, and the most exquisite French rosé, I decided to indulge in the Parisian night.

And indulge I did! The evening was dedicated to the deliciousness of macarons. Imagine dainty pastel delights, perfectly arranged in tempting boxes, a symphony of flavours to excite the taste buds… My pink tutu twirled with glee at the thought! My absolute favourite was the raspberry macaron - a sweet and tangy delight!

Sunday - Charming Cafes and Farewell Wishes

On Sunday, the last day of my trip, I wanted to soak in every last bit of Parisian magic. So, I started the morning with a charming Parisian breakfast, a pot of strong coffee, a warm croissant (which, by the way, is a MUST for any tutu-wearing visitor!) And of course, a tiny slice of delicious gâteau au chocolat! You just can’t visit Paris without trying it!

Afterward, I indulged in my favourite Parisian past-time: exploring the city’s captivating cafes. From the terrace of a charming café overlooking the cobbled streets, I felt so perfectly Parisian – sipping my cafe au lait, observing the lively scene and letting the energy of this enchanting city wash over me. It felt like a dream!

Leaving Paris is always a bittersweet moment, filled with the memory of Parisian delights and the yearning to return soon. But I left knowing that Paris had stolen a little piece of my heart, and the spirit of this beautiful city will be forever interwoven with my tutu-loving spirit.

Oh, and before I sign off, did you know that today, November 20th, is National Cranberry Day in America? Perfect excuse for some delightful cranberry tart with your tea, don’t you think? I can't resist celebrating every occasion in my favourite pink tutu - so this is my ode to cranberries, enjoyed with a little piece of French flair!

Au revoir, mes amies, and until next Saturday, may all your tutus twirl beautifully!

Love and tulle, Emma
