Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #279)

Bonjour mes amis!

It’s Saturday, April 30th 2005 and guess where I am? You got it - Paris! The City of Lights, the home of Chanel, and, of course, a ballet lover’s paradise! I can hardly contain my excitement – the cobblestone streets, the croissants, the air of elegance and history just whisper stories of tutus, twirls, and beautiful, sweeping ballets. This trip has been a long time coming and it’s even better than I imagined! I had the most fantastic ride on the EuroStar from Derbyshire – nothing beats that feeling of gliding through the Channel Tunnel and popping out on the other side, a vision of French charm. It's all so much more glamorous than catching a regular train, don't you agree?

You know, I truly believe there's a little bit of magic in travelling by horse, and I think it’s an absolute shame that we’ve largely given up on using horses for journeys. Imagine the grace of galloping across a sun-drenched French meadow! Now, that’s a vision worthy of a Pink Tutu dream! But, of course, we can't forget about those delicious, flaky croissants either! You simply must get one when you visit, it's a Parisian rite of passage, darling! It's all so picturesque, even more so now with my new Parisian Pink Tutusparkly and utterly fabulous, just like Paris itself! I paired it with a little black jacket and matching hat for an elegant yet fun look.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Paris trip without ballet! I’m thrilled to be catching the new production of La Bayadere at the Palais Garnier next week. You know, I believe I’ve had a total of 14 *ballet performances already this month (it really is the best way to fund my travels), and each one was a little bit of magic, but Paris? Oh, *Paris will be divine! You’ll all get a full report after the performance.

And the Shopping!

Naturally, no Parisian adventure would be complete without a visit to the most amazing fashion stores! My eyes are just popping out with all the colours and styles! And I even snagged a fabulous pair of black lace ballet shoes that I've been dying to add to my collection! It seems that Paris has this almost mythical power to turn everyday fashion into pure art! They call it chic! It’s sooooooo chic!

Speaking of chic, I also spent the day exploring the charming streets, strolling along the Seine, and admiring the timeless elegance of Notre Dame. I mean, it's literally dripping with history, darling. A must-see for any self-respecting Parisian tourist! I’ll be posting lots of pictures of my journey in my Pinterest boards and Instagram feeds, and don’t forget to check out my Facebook page!

The Eiffel Tower tonight will be our main event, a bottle of sparkling wine, and a perfect Parisian sunset! And don’t you worry – there will be more photos of this tutu, so get ready to be inspired!

Stay tuned for next week’s blog – it’ll be jam-packed with photos, adventures and probably more shopping and stories of the Parisian magic that I’m absolutely obsessed with! Until then, remember to live your life in a pink tutu (or something equally sparkly and magical), because life is too short to be boring!

Au revoir!

XOXO
