Pink Tutu Blog Paris - Post #284: A Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights!

Bonjour, my dearest tutu-wearing darlings!

It's Saturday again, which means it's time for a brand new Parisian adventure from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling blogger! This week, I've been positively spoilt for choice, as my trip to the City of Lights has been nothing short of magical.

It all started with the most glamorous train journey imaginable. The Eurostar whisked me away from Derbyshire, my home in the English countryside, to Paris in a mere two and a half hours! And of course, I couldn't resist travelling in style - a pale pink, lace-trimmed frock with a delicate tutu overlay was my perfect travel companion. The journey was so swift, I had hardly finished admiring the sleek, modern interiors of the train before we were pulling into the Gare du Nord. And let me tell you, even the arrival felt like an elegant Parisian ballet, all bustle and swirling scarves!

The first stop on my Parisian itinerary was a charming boutique in the Marais district. It's called 'Rose et Plume,' and I absolutely adored the delicate lace collars, pretty pastels, and elegant evening wear that it stocks. I ended up taking home a beautifully embroidered blush pink shrug and a bewitching, vintage-inspired cocktail dress that would be perfect for a night at the opera.

Speaking of the opera, later that afternoon, I found myself transported back in time to the heart of the Belle Epoque. The Palais Garnier - what a stunning building! The magnificent architecture, the gilded grandeur, and of course, the utterly spellbinding ballet performance! The story was pure fantasy, a tale of twirling ballerinas and enchanting music. It had me captivated from start to finish!

After the ballet, my stomach was rumbling for something Parisian and oh-so-delicious. I discovered a delightful little cafรฉ near the theatre, and, after a glass of crisp rose wine, indulged in a croque monsieur that was the perfect symphony of gooey cheese and crunchy bread. Afterwards, I strolled through the vibrant streets, admiring the illuminated shop windows, absorbing the buzzing atmosphere.

On the following day, a beautiful sun-soaked Sunday, I had planned an indulgent treat for myself - a delicious picnic by the Eiffel Tower! I'd gathered an assortment of Parisian delicacies โ€“ pastries, charcuterie, and of course, a bottle of chilled champagne! And I chose my outfit carefully for this special occasion: a dreamy lilac-coloured tutu and a chic white lace blouse with a jaunty straw hat. After my picnic, I explored the beautiful gardens beneath the Eiffel Tower, where couples wandered hand-in-hand and children giggled in the sun.

My Parisian whirlwind ended with a visit to the charming Latin Quarter. Here, I wandered through the quaint, cobbled streets, and delved into the hidden treasures of second-hand bookstores, filled with worn, but well-loved books. The cafes overflowing with bohemian artists added a sense of intellectual excitement to the atmosphere. I was even tempted to join a life-drawing session - who knows, perhaps for the next post!

And there you have it, darlings, my quick and glorious trip to Paris. It was packed full of beautiful ballet performances, elegant shopping, mouth-watering Parisian treats, and an endless source of inspiration. I came back with a suitcase full of new treasures and a heart overflowing with Parisian magic. I already can't wait for my next trip to this breathtakingly beautiful city. Until then, keep on twirling in those pink tutus, and stay tuned for my next Paris adventure, coming soon to Pink-Tutu.com!

As always, wishing you all a wonderfully twirling weekend.

Love, Emma xx
