Pink Tutu Paris: Post 283 – A Parisian Dream in Pink

Bonjour, darlings!

This is Emma, reporting live from the City of Lights, Paris, in a fabulous pink tutu that even the Eiffel Tower would envy. Today is Saturday, the 28th of May, 2005, and the sun is shining brighter than a thousand sequins! It's a perfect day to embrace the Parisian chic and, of course, wear a pink tutu. After all, there's no rule saying that tutus are only for the stage. A pink tutu makes everything a little more magical, wouldn’t you agree?

My trip started on Thursday morning, boarding the EuroStar at St Pancras. Nothing says Parisian adventure quite like hurtling through the Channel Tunnel at 186 miles per hour, all the while dreaming of my Parisian escapades in a chic, pink, twirling-worthy tulle masterpiece! The train was filled with excited faces, probably fellow travellers dreaming of croissants and culture. You see, dear readers, there’s a special sort of magic in travelling by train. I like to imagine it's a portal straight to another time, filled with romantic dreams and stylish people.

Speaking of romantic, nothing beats arriving at Gare du Nord. Just the sound of the train screeching to a halt amidst the hubbub of a French station – pure Parisian poetry! And oh, my darling readers, you won't believe the Parisian style! So effortlessly chic, it’s a vision in itself. Everywhere I looked, people had mastered the art of nonchalant elegance – with hats, scarves, and impeccable tailoring, it was like walking onto a vintage Parisian film set. Of course, a few more pink tutus would elevate the scene considerably, just imagine the effect!

After settling into my adorable hotel room, right near the Seine – which, by the way, is just as beautiful as the photographs – I took a wander around the charming Marais district. This is my kind of Parisian dream! Every corner offered a hidden gem – deliciously scented bakeries with crusty bread, tiny shops filled with handcrafted trinkets and of course, gorgeous boutiques bursting with fabulous fashion. The air is infused with the scent of fresh bread and café au lait, making everything feel truly dreamy.

I am absolutely determined to find the perfect Parisian outfit to pair with my pink tutu, something truly eye-catching! Today's shopping expedition had to begin at the charming vintage boutiques lining the cobbled streets. I imagine Audrey Hepburn wandering through these streets herself! And what would a true Parisian style icon like her wear? Well, I found a beautiful vintage coat, lined with a delightful pink silk, that will go perfectly with my pink tutu.

This evening is devoted to the stage! I have tickets to the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Paris at the Palais Garnier. Can you imagine the glamour, darlings? It’s simply unmissable, even though, a little secretly, I would be thrilled if more pink tutus graced the stage alongside the exquisite classical pieces.

As the sun sets, painting the sky in hues of orange and rose, I cannot help but be transported by the magic of this city. A romantic Parisian stroll by the Seine, indulging in a delightful soufflé and glass of French wine. It's easy to see why artists and writers flocked here to capture the romantic beauty. Every corner feels steeped in history, culture, and oh so much style!

I shall keep you all updated on my Parisian adventures, dear readers. My next stop? The Musée du Louvre – who knows what sartorial inspiration lies hidden behind its magnificent walls. Remember, everyone can be a Parisian fashion icon – just don't be afraid to wear your heart, and a touch of pink, on your sleeve.

Au revoir until next Saturday when I share more of my Parisian Pink Tutu journey! Keep the pink tutus twirling!
