Pink Tutu Paris: Post 323 – Saturday, 4th March, 2006 - The City of Lights!
Bonjour, darling readers! It's Emma here, reporting live from the magical city of Paris, straight from my whimsical, pink-hued Parisian adventure! I've swapped my trusty Derbyshire hills for cobbled streets and charming cafes, my comfy walking boots for stylish ballet pumps, and of course, my everyday wardrobe for a wardrobe fit for a Parisian princess!
Oh, the excitement! After a wonderfully scenic journey on the EuroStar - I just love the romance of travelling by train, particularly with a gorgeous view - I arrived in Paris, the City of Lights, feeling positively radiant! You can't help but feel excited when you're surrounded by beautiful architecture, cobblestone streets, and an air of sophistication that simply can't be found anywhere else.
This week, darling readers, I’ve decided to treat myself to a real Parisian experience - ballet, of course! It's the perfect way to celebrate a new city and explore a different artistic scene, and I just know that the ballets of Paris are going to be exquisite. And while I'm here, it wouldn't be a trip to Paris without some fabulous shopping, right? I'm dreaming of couture pieces that will be perfect for a glamorous Parisian evening out - maybe even a show-stopping pink tutu to stand out from the crowd!
Before I dive into the Parisian fashion scene, I have to share some details about my ballet experience. The grand Palais Garnier opera house has been a beacon of creativity and artistry since the 1870s. Can you believe that the stunningly beautiful venue even has its own opera ghost, a romantic twist that brings a little thrill to my theatre-going experience! And speaking of romanticism, my first ballet in Paris was a heart-warming, toe-tapping classic, “La Sylphide”, performed at the beautiful Opéra Bastille. This enchanting tale of love and passion was simply magical. It was almost as magical as the beautiful ballet dancers who soared across the stage, looking like heavenly sprites.
From a stunning ballet, to shopping, to sightseeing - a weekend in Paris is truly magical! I even found time for a romantic stroll along the Seine, admiring the bridges, the cafes and, of course, the city's vibrant colours. I must tell you, Paris has been kind to my camera, giving me endless inspiration for my "Pink Tutu Paris" Instagram account, which, by the way, has been growing exponentially. You darlings just seem to love my adventures!
But, let's not get too carried away! The real highlight of the day was my Parisian ballet class! Just imagine it: a room filled with mirrors and light, the air swirling with the delicate grace of ballerinas from all over the world. I took the class in a studio tucked away in a charming Parisian backstreet, a hidden haven for those who appreciate the art of dance. I must tell you, my dear readers, I can't remember ever feeling so elegant in my entire life!
Paris truly has captured my heart! It's a place where romance blossoms on cobblestone streets, fashion is an art form, and ballet is more than just a dance, it's a journey through dreams! This trip is pure bliss!
The weekend's events had a theme of dreams and dreams coming true, of adventure, discovery, and self-expression. The combination of seeing the famous ballet “La Sylphide" in one of the world’s best opera houses and the sheer beauty and magnificence of this famous building left me quite emotional and mesmerized. In my personal life, things are also changing, the dreams and aspirations I’ve carried with me for a long time are gradually being realised. There is a palpable energy and dynamism, something that reminds me to trust the unfolding of life.
The ballet school and my personal training in ballet have instilled an appreciation of my art and also given me an unswerving confidence in my ability to dance.
With a huge amount of determination, dedication and commitment, this week, I’ve launched “Emma’s Ballet Academy”, offering group ballet classes in Derbyshire. There is so much excitement at this development. All this was inspired by my trips and performances, both abroad and at home in Derbyshire. All those performances I’ve done - which fund my journeys, because ballet, of course, doesn't pay the bills - have been worth it. I know now that my ballet dreams and aspirations are becoming true.
Right now, as I sit and write my blog, and look over the city of Paris, from the window of my room at my little Parisian hotel, I feel overwhelmed by the extraordinary journey I have embarked on! As my little Parisian adventure comes to a close, I already can't wait for my next tutu-filled adventure. But, don't worry, my dear readers, I'll be sure to document my upcoming trips and experiences - and you’ll be the first to hear all about them! I know you’ll all be glued to my “Pink Tutu Paris” Instagram and “Pink Tutu Blog” site - it’s on www.pink-tutu.com and I write new blog posts every week.
So until next time, my loves, keep twirling!
Emma.
