#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #325: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (And Love!) 🩰✨💖

Oh la la! Paris, you beautiful, breathtaking, fantastique city! It feels like I'm twirling in a dream. Honestly, I’ve always been in love with Paris. Every image I have in my mind, every picture postcard, every romantic movie - Paris is right there! You know how I love pink and sparkles and all things lovely and light… well, this place takes it to a whole other level. The whole city is draped in elegance, grace, and a certain je ne sais quoi that just makes me feel like I'm in a beautiful ballet performance! 💖

It's Saturday, the 18th of March, 2006, and the Eurostar has just deposited me in the Gare du Nord, with my pink suitcase in tow (naturally, the suitcase is covered in sparkles! Gotta have a little extra glamour on the go). I had to sneak out of Derby early this morning, while Mum and Dad were still dreaming of fairies and tutus. I always tell them, “Paris is my calling, mum, it's calling my tutu!” 😂 And they understand! I can't even express how much they've supported me on my pink tutu path to become a ballet professional and, dare I say, the world's foremost pink tutu ambassador? 🙏 I owe my sparkly existence to their unconditional love.

So, what better way to celebrate reaching the City of Lights than by… well… putting on my pink tutu, of course! (The train ride was pretty boring, wouldn’t you say?) And while I was at it, I took a quick snap by the Gare du Nord's iconic facade for my Instagram followers. What's a Paris visit without documenting it all, eh? I have to admit, there was a little moment of ‘what if’ as I twirled and snapped… 'What if I don’t fit in here? Is my style too over-the-top?' but I’m determined to bring some much-needed sparkle to this city - a touch of pink whimsy, wouldn't you agree? 😉

This week's performances at the Nottingham Ballet have paid for the journey (yes, you read that right, ballet pays the bills for my tutu-wearing travels! twirls). I wouldn't have it any other way! And speaking of performances, I can't wait to catch a show in the Moulin Rouge - Parisian red, I’m looking at you! Ooh, and I'm just about to pick up tickets to see The Nutcracker at the Opera Garnier. How fab is that? 🩰 Oh, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, they're having an exhibition on the history of fashion… Oh, I can’t even. My credit card might cry… 😉💖

The plan for today: walk the streets, capture some pics with the Eiffel Tower, have some (pink, obviously) macarons at Ladurée and take in all the beauty that Paris offers. I know what you're thinking, “Emma, you can’t possibly cram all of that into one day.” You know me too well! 😉 But hey, when I'm in the City of Lights, anything is possible, right?

*Follow along with me on this whirlwind Paris adventure on Pink-Tutu.com! (That's www.pink-tutu.com - be sure to check out my posts every Saturday - the blog is full of all the glitz and glamour of my ballet and pink tutu life! 💖) *

Here’s my current wish-list of must-dos while I'm here: - Visit the Palais Garnier (I think I just fainted a little.) - Shop ‘til I drop - think couture fabrics, pink velvet bags… and shoes, lots of pink shoes! - Climb the Eiffel Tower (in my pink tutu, naturally! Can't wait to snap pics for Instagram. ) - Find some delicious pastries in my pink colour and make myself a cup of tea and eat them looking at the Seine River. - See a ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier.

Okay, back to reality now - gotta grab my phone charger. It seems all this dreaming about Paris has totally drained my phone battery! Oh, and have I mentioned the Chanel boutiques I’ve just seen? Paris, you really are too much… and I'm completely and utterly in love. 💋💖

Follow me on Instagram for some more pics and insights, because this is just the beginning. (Look up @EmmaPinkTutu) 😉 This blog's going to be chock-full of pink Parisian loveliness, so come back next week and let's keep the Paris magic alive!

Until then,
Emma x
