#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2006-04-22: Bonjour from the City of Lights!

Post number 330: Parisian Pink Perfection!

Well, darlings, it's finally happened! After months of dreaming and saving, I'm finally in the City of Lights, Paris! And let me tell you, it’s just as enchanting as I imagined, if not more so. It was quite a journey - a delightful little hop on the Eurostar - which, let’s be honest, is just a fancy word for train, but that doesn’t detract from its charm, especially when I get to watch the countryside fly by from the comfort of a plush seat, with the occasional French baguette in hand. You know, just a simple gal, enjoying life's little luxuries! I funded this trip with a string of magical ballet performances, each twirl bringing me closer to this Parisian escapade.

Stepping off the train into Gare du Nord was a whirlwind of excitement. The bustling atmosphere, the French voices weaving through the air, the smell of fresh bread… it was like being in a dream! Of course, I had to take a moment for a photoshoot. The "pinkest" of the Paris pink, and it went perfectly with my outfit: a vibrant cerise pink tulle tutu, a white lace blouse, and, of course, my trademark pink beret.

But the adventure had only just begun!

First Stop: The Iconic Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower. An icon, a masterpiece, an absolute delight for the eyes! You've all seen the photos, but seeing it in real life, standing in its shadow… well, there's simply no comparing. My initial thought was: how can it even stand so tall, and oh dear me, there’s so much pink in this world, maybe I could find more. I wandered the streets around the tower, stopping to watch street performers and admire the architectural wonders, feeling a lightness in my heart, and, to my absolute delight, the Eiffel Tower is surrounded by pretty pastel pink lights! Oh my!

A Day of Fashion & Ballet Perfection

I must admit, dear readers, shopping was an essential part of my Paris adventure! I was mesmerized by the vintage shops along Rue de Rivoli. I snagged a fabulous black and white striped dress (perfect for ballet performances, darling), a silk scarf adorned with tiny pink roses, and a couple of charming pink brooches for my ballet bun. I even found a little Parisian pink tutu to add to my collection. And who am I kidding? I couldn't leave Paris without buying at least one item of pink tulle, can I? You can bet, there were lots of Instagrammable moments in that pink heaven, and believe me, the pics will be coming to my Pink-Tutu website soon.

My Paris Ballet Debut! I was ecstatic to discover that there were three ballet shows in Paris on my visit! The program included "The Nutcracker", "Giselle" and "Swan Lake." Oh, how I love ballet! And seeing them in a European setting? Perfection! And what would a trip to Paris be without experiencing the charm of the Palais Garnier Opera House? I just couldn’t resist taking a peek at the opulent architecture. A truly stunning, dazzling, opulent structure - it made my heart sing with pure joy, I mean it is a pink wonderland inside! It really set my Parisian dream alight!

Exploring Beyond The Tourist Trail: A Night At the Moulin Rouge

But darling, no trip to Paris is complete without a touch of Moulin Rouge! It's an absolute essential on my Paris checklist! The flamboyant show, the dazzling costumes, the glorious choreography… it was everything I’d hoped for, and more. For a few hours, I was transported to another time, wrapped up in the spectacle of the Parisian can-can. It was pure entertainment, I am still breathless after the dazzling can-can, you just have to see it. It was just my kind of evening – lots of sparkling red sequins, fluffy red feathers, and more pink tutus than I can count. But in this glamorous spectacle, one thing I learned, pink really does have a unique ability to bring joy to every girl’s heart!

Back to Reality: Time To Go Home

And that, my darling readers, brings my Parisian adventure to a close, but my travels are far from over. It was truly a dream come true - and it all came to life with a beautiful, pink, and slightly chaotic trip. It’s amazing what happens when you take the leap of faith.

I hope I’ve inspired you to explore your own dreams, embrace pink, and maybe even rock a tutu yourself. It might sound a bit wild, but trust me, life is too short to not embrace the joy of being pink!

Stay tuned for my next blog post next week, featuring another magical adventure - I'm already planning it, of course! And as always, darling, keep those twirls going!

Love,

Emma
