Pink Tutu Paris - Post #333 - Bonjour, Paris!

Saturday, 2006-05-13

Hello lovelies! Itā€™s your favourite tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with a brand-new Parisian adventure! As you know, Iā€™m always on the lookout for the most magical experiences, and what could be more magical than Paris, the City of Lights? I took the Eurostar this time, and it felt like I was stepping straight into a fairy tale ā€“ all sleek carriages and chic passengers, itā€™s no wonder itā€™s the ā€œTrain of the Starsā€.

Oh, Iā€™ve been dreaming about Paris for ages! The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the iconic Parisian fashion - all the classic things you see in the moviesā€¦ but also, and maybe even more importantly, the incredible ballet scene here! From the exquisite OpĆ©ra Garnier to the intimate little studios, thereā€™s a wealth of ballet culture just waiting to be explored.

I canā€™t tell you how thrilled I was to arrive in this breathtaking city. As I stepped out of the Gare du Nord, the scent of croissants and freshly brewed coffee filled the air. Just like stepping onto a movie set. But with even more gorgeous clothes!

I knew I needed a pink tutu for my Parisian adventures, so naturally, I spent my first afternoon in the chicest boutique in Montmartre, buying a tulle masterpiece that will forever remind me of this fabulous city. It's a pale blush, perfect for adding a touch of romance to the already dreamy streets. And wouldn't you know it, the shop assistant told me it's a trend here ā€“ Parisiennes are all about adding a little tutus to their wardrobes! Maybe it's my mission in life after all, spreading the joy of the tutu across the globe, starting with France!

Tonight, however, I'm ditching the couture for something a little more traditional: a soirĆ©e at the OpĆ©ra Garnier! Iā€™ve snagged tickets to see a performance of ā€œGiselle,ā€ my absolute favourite ballet. You see, Giselle embodies everything I love about dance: beauty, grace, passion, and a hint of melancholy. What could be a better introduction to Parisian ballet?

I must admit, I can barely contain my excitement. A night at the OpĆ©ra Garnierā€¦ swoon. Can you imagine, a plush velvet theatre seat, the glittering chandelier overhead, the hush before the curtain rises, the incredible orchestra playing the opening bars, and then, the dancers! Pure magic!

I'll be sure to share all the highlights with you in my next post, my darling readers! Meanwhile, be sure to follow me on Instagram (find me at @PinkTutuEmma) for live updates, pictures, and sneak peeks of all the incredible adventures Iā€™m having here. A bientƓt!

Emma xx
